Tanner Scott | Fantasy Outlook

Tanner Scott remains a locked-in closing option for the powerhouse Dodgers despite a minor bump in recent ratios.

Tanner Scott continues to serve as the primary closer for the first-place Dodgers (42-24), a role he secured following Edwin Diaz's elbow surgery. While Scott has hit a minor speed bump recently, posting a 6.92 ERA over his last three appearances, he remains securely atop the bullpen hierarchy. With Los Angeles leading the NL West, late-game leads should remain highly plentiful.

Zooming out, Scott's overall 2026 campaign has been excellent, carrying a 2.54 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, and six saves. This easily outpaces our season projection of a 3.46 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. Given his strong history of high strikeout rates and a vastly improved walk rate this year, his recent minor skid is nothing more than a small-sample blip.

The Dodgers travel for a six-game road trip against the Pirates and White Sox this week. Our models project Scott for 2.1 innings, 2.8 strikeouts, and 0.7 saves with a tidy 1.03 WHIP. Facing a struggling Chicago offense provides excellent opportunities to get back on track. Verdict: Start.
