Last week, I started a series ranking my top-10 fantasy baseball players at each position.

I began with starting pitchers and then covered catchers. Here, I want to unveil my top-10 fantasy outfielders. Yes, I’m going to lump all three outfield spots (left, center and right field) into one top-10 list.

A note before we begin, but I’m not going to include Mookie Betts in this ranking list. He’s expected to play shortstop this coming season, and that’s where I’m going to include Betts.

Let’s get right to it!

1. Aaron Judge

Judge is my No. 1 fantasy outfielder coming into 2025. He was the top-scoring outfielder last season, and that was with a couple cold stretches during the season.

In 158 games and 704 plate appearances in 2024, Judge had a .322 average and .458 on-base percentage. He clubbed 58 home runs and drove in 144 runs.

Those numbers are insane, and they aren’t even some of the best ones he’s delivered in his nine-year career. The Yankees lost some key players from last year’s run to the World Series, but I actually think their lineup is deeper and better going into 2025, and that should help Judge remain a great fantasy option, although he’d still deliver big numbers on a bad offense.

2. Juan Soto

Soto is my No. 2 outfielder and was the No. 2 fantasy outfielder a season ago. He moved to the Mets, but like Judge, Soto should be a great fantasy asset regardless of what team he is on.

In 157 games and 713 plate appearances last season, Soto had a .288 average and .419 OBP. He hit 41 home runs and drove in 109 runs.

I think the move to the Mets is going to ever so slightly hurt Soto’s fantasy outlook, but with plenty of talented hitters in the lineup, I still think Soto is one of the top fantasy outfielders in the game.

3. Kyle Tucker

Tucker slots in third for me, even though he’d really be fourth behind Betts. Tucker also found a new home in the offseason after a trade from the Astros to the Cubs.

In 78 games with Houston last season, Tucker had a .289 average and .408 OBP. He hit 23 homers and drove in 49 runs. It’s a shame his season was cut short, because he was on pace for a monster season.

I think the move to Chicago hurts his fantasy value a bit, but I also think he’s talented enough to produce monster numbers with the worst offense in the league. The Cubs look pretty average on paper, and I think Tucker will remain one of the better fantasy outfielders in the MLB.

4. Yordan Alvarez

Alvarez is a bit overlooked, in my opinion. He was the No. 3 fantasy outfielder last season, and that was while missing 15 games.

In 147 games and 635 plate appearances last season, Alvarez had a .308 average and .392 OBP. He popped 35 home runs and drove in 86 runs.

The Astros lost Tucker, but added Isaac Paredes, Christian Walker and others, and I actually think their lineup is more balanced going into 2025. That works in the favor of Alvarez, and means he should have plenty of RBI chances. He could push for the top fantasy outfield spot if the players around him settle in quickly.

5. Fernando Tatis Jr.

Tatis is another hitter who had his season cut short due to injuries, but I still believe he’ll be a top-five fantasy finisher in the outfield.

In 102 games and 438 plate appearances last season, Tatis had a .276 average and .340 OBP. He hit 21 home runs and drove in 49 runs.

I like the offense the Padres have assembled, especially at the top of the order, where Tatis will be hitting. As long as he can stay healthy, Tatis could make a push for being the top fantasy outfielder in the league. He’s a risky pick given his history in the league, but the upside is really hard to pass on too long.

6. Corbin Carroll

Carroll was a candidate for the top fantasy pick in 2024, but he struggled in a big way, at least in most stats compared to his 2023 season. That makes him a bounceback candidate in 2025.

In 158 games and 684 plate appearances last season, Carroll had a .231 average and .322 OBP. He hit 22 home runs and drove in 74 runs. Carroll had a .285 average and .362 OBP in 2023, but his homer and RBI numbers were pretty similar.

Carroll really probably wasn’t as much of a fantasy bust as people say he was last year. Arizona’s lineup is going to look pretty close to the one it had last season, and I expect improvement from Carroll, and that will help him be a top-10 fantasy outfielder with ease.

7. Julio Rodriguez

Rodriguez was another option for the top pick in 2024, so I thought it was fitting to list him right behind Carroll.

In 143 games and 613 plate appearances, Rodriguez had a .273 average and .325 OBP. He hit 20 homers and drove in 68 runs. His average and OBP were similar to the ones he posted in a breakout 2023 season, but his homers and RBIs were way down.

I expect him to improve this season, and it will help him to finish inside the top 10 again. He could finish even higher if the lineup around him also improves a bit.

8. Jarren Duran

Duran had his breakout season in 2024. He was the No. 4 fantasy outfielder and I expect him to finish inside the top 10 again this coming year.

In 160 games and 735 plate appearances, Duran had a .285 average and .342 OBP. He hit 21 homers and drove in 75 runs.

Duran’s durability is a big plus in his fantasy outlook, and being 28 years old, there should be room for growth still. The Red Sox’s lineup looks pretty much the same as last season, and so I’d expect at least a similar season from Duran.

9. Jackson Chourio

Chourio enjoyed a big rookie season, even though he didn’t really get going until June. I think he’s in store for a monster sophomore campaign.

In 148 games and 573 plate appearances, Chourio hit .275 and had a .327 OBP. He hit 21 home runs and drove in 79 runs.

Chourio split time between the top and bottom of the order last season, and should hit near the top of the lineup all season in 2025. That already makes him a better fantasy asset, and not even being 21 years old yet, some improvement should be expected (for years to come too). If he starts the season batting third or fourth, he could push for being the top fantasy outfielder in the game.

10. Jackson Merrill

Merrill was another standout rookie last season. He’s a player the Padres are going to build around, as he’s just 21 years old.

In 156 games and 593 plate appearances last season, Merrill hit .292 and got on base at a .326 clip. He hit 24 home runs and drove in 90 runs.

He’s expected to hit in the heart of a good Padres’ lineup, and it should lead to a monster fantasy season. If he adds even more pop to his game, he also could challenge for the top fantasy outfielder spot.

Honorable Mentions

Having to choose just 10 players between three outfield positions was extremely difficult, and there’s of course some really great fantasy assets that missed out.

Ronald Acuna Jr., Jazz Chisholm Jr., Kyle Schwarber, Teoscar Hernandez are a few other players I considered for top-10 spots.

Some other intriguing names for me this coming season are James Wood, Michael Harris II, Wyatt Langford, Brent Rooker, Anthony Santander, Christian Yelich, Mike Trout and Jurickson Profar.
