Lou takes a how much FAAB this week's hottest quarterback and running back pickups are worth.
Welcome to my weekly FAAB report article for Fantasy Football. Every week, I am going to go over my favorite additions at the QB and RB positions in both shallower leagues and deeper leagues and tell you how much FAAB you should be spending and why.

Best Fantasy Football FAAB Pickups for Shallow Leagues (10 and 12 Teams)
QB Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Love has had two of his best games over the past two weeks and his young WRs are finally making plays for him, too. The Packers' recent hot streak has them in contention for a Wild Card spot in the NFC and Love has a chance to be a top 10-15 QB for the rest of the season. I wouldn’t let Love sit on the wire in any league size; if you play in Superflex leagues, spend up to 25% of your remaining budget.
QB Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
There are a lot of teams on their bye this week, so Young could be an interesting streamer even with the Panthers' offense being one of the worst in the league. He has a good matchup in Week 13 vs. bad Bucs pass defense, so if you’re looking for an option at QB this weekend, spend 4-6% of your remaining budget on Young.
QB Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals
Browning is unlikely to have any big days in fantasy. He had huge shoes to fill playing in place of Joe Burrow, yet as long as he has Ja'Marr Chase to throw to, he is going to have some value for fantasy. He was pretty solid last week against a good Steelers defense and is worthy of an add if you miss out on Young. Don’t spend more than 5% of your remaining budget.
QB Aidan O’Connell, Las Vegas Raiders
He has gotten Davante Adams back into a groove since taking over in Las Vegas, and as long as he is linked to Adams, he has value. It is similar to the situation with Browning and Chase. He played well against a solid Chiefs defense in Week 12 and will now go on his bye week, where he will have an extra week to learn the offense more and work with his new coaching staff since the Raiders fired Josh McDaniels. 8-12% of your remaining budget feels right here.
Best Fantasy Football FAAB Pickups for Deep Leagues (14 and 16 Teams)
QB Tommy DeVito, New York Giants
DeVito has led the Giants' offense better than either Daniel Jones or Tyrod Taylor did this season. Over the past few weeks, he has looked more and more comfortable and, because he is about to go on his bye week, he can be had very cheap this week. The fact that he is about to go on his bye week is actually another reason why I like him. It gives him more time in this offense and he should be even more in sync with his pass catchers for the remainder of the season. In Superflex leagues, 15-20% of your remaining budget is good. In 1-QB leagues where you’re looking for a backup, 5-8% works.
RB Samaje Perine, Denver Broncos
Javonte Williams is the clear number-one back in this offense, but Perine does get work in the passing game and can be an option for you in PPR formats. If you need a bye-week fill-in or you are looking for a handcuff for Williams, who has had injury issues in the past, including leaving the Week 12 game for a period of time, Perine is an interesting option in your deep leagues. If you don't play in PPR leagues, though, Perine is better left on the wire. If you do, you should look to spend between 10-13% of your remaining budget on him.
RB D’Ernest Johnson, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags have been looking for a red-zone RB, and they also don’t want to run Travis Etienne into the ground. The rookie Tank Bigsby hasn’t been anything special, and Johnson just had a solid game against the division-rival Texans in what was a big win for the Jags. It’s worth taking a shot on him in case he continues to gain more touches in a very good offense. 3-6% of your remaining budget feels right.
