Dynasty Players Rebuilding Owners Should Consider Moving - NFC West Edition | James Conner, Cooper Kupp, George Kittle, Geno Smith and More
Identifying some dynasty players who should maybe be moved by rebuilding teams.
We’re getting closer and closer to wrapping up a fantasy football series where I identify players that rebuilding dynasty owners should consider moving.
We covered the North (NFC and AFC), East (NFC and AFC) and South (NFC and AFC) divisions already and will now discuss the NFC West.

Arizona Cardinals
I didn’t realize how young the Cardinals’ offensive playmakers were until looking over their top players just now.
James Conner is the only notable player I’d be wanting to sell off my rebuilding dynasty team. He is 29 years old.
The good thing with Conner is that he’s enjoying a pretty solid season, so he’s got good trade value. A desperate enough contending team might pay a pretty hefty price to get him too, especially if that team rostered backup Trey Benson and/or Emari Demercado.
I always try to target the same position when doing trades in dynasty leagues, so I’d be looking for a running back in return. If you can’t get a back in return, I’d target a couple rookie picks instead.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are also pretty young this season.
Matthew Stafford is the oldest offensive player by five years, and he’s one I’d look to move off my rebuilding team. Stafford has upped his trade value with better play since he got his two top wideouts back.
The deeper the league, the more value you should get back for Stafford. Even getting a rookie pick back would be something I’d do for Stafford. I also wouldn’t mind attaching a pick or two onto Stafford to go after a young quarterback who maybe hasn’t taken off as a fantasy player yet.
Cooper Kupp is probably the most valuable dynasty player the Rams have. He’s 31 years old.
Kupp has seen his trade value go up since returning from his early-season injury. There’s not too many dynasty contending teams that wouldn’t like to add Kupp for the stretch run.
Kupp still should net you a pretty solid return - not as much as he would have gone for a couple years ago, but still a package of players and/or picks is probably doable yet. Again, I’d be targeting a young wideout, and be willing to attach a pick to Kupp to get a really good wideout. A couple picks in return for Kupp wouldn’t be the worst thing either.
Demarcus Robinson is the final Ram I’d be looking to trade away. He’s 30 years old.
He’s not going to net you a big-time return, so I’d try to up his value by sending him to a dynasty owner who has Puka Nacua or Kupp on the roster already. That way, if either receiver gets hurt the rest of the season, Robinson is a possible fill in.
Getting a mid- to late-round pick for Robinson would work for me, but even swapping him for a younger wideout who is the third or fourth WR on his real team’s depth chart is a positive move in my eyes.
San Francisco 49ers
There’s several Niners I’d consider moving.
The biggest name is Christian McCaffrey, which is a tricky situation since he’s just now returning to the field (hopefully). He’s 28 years old.
CMC not playing this season is definitely a concern for a dynasty owner, especially given his age, but he’s also been one of the few elite fantasy backs over the past couple years. There’s a lot of contending teams that believe CMC could put their team over the top, even if he doesn’t return to his elite form from a season ago.
It’s hard to judge what a return might look like, but it’d need to include multiple assets for me to even listen (most likely). A high-end rookie pick should be on the wish list, as should some additional picks and younger players who can definitely help you out in the future. Don’t feel like you need to deal CMC away, but given his injury history and age, I wouldn’t mind at least entertaining offers.
George Kittle is next on the trade list for me. The 31-year-old tight end is having a monster season and should be a highly sought-after trade target.
The tight end position is a difficult one to find talent at, so make sure you are getting a big enough return for one of the few great players at the position. Landing a young TE in return wouldn’t be a need, but is definitely a want. Really, getting a couple picks back should do the trick.
Deebo Samuel Sr. is another one I’d want to trade. The versatile, 28-year-old wide receiver hasn’t lived up to big expectations this season, but he’s still a good weekly starting option for fantasy teams.
You should still get a solid return for Samuel. I’d look to add a younger wideout in return, or at least get multiple rookie draft picks back. It’s hard to find good fantasy players like Samuel, so getting a couple chances to replace him is key.
Jauan Jennings is another one I’d look to trade. With Brandon Aiyuk out for the season, Jennings should play a bigger offensive role (once Jennings gets back on the field himself).
Jennings might not ever be this valuable in a dynasty league again, and that’s why I’d try to move him now. The return still won’t be anything crazy, but in deeper formats, someone might send a late pick for him. You could add a pick of your own to improve the pick coming back your way too.
The last Niner I’d want to move is Jordan Mason. He’s just 25 years old.
His future is up in the air, but you’d expect him to get a shot to serve a fairly large offensive role with some team going forward after what he’s accomplished with CMC out this season.
It’s risky because another team could bring him in to be their workhorse back, but that’s a risk to take. I’d be more inclined to sell him high and not have to worry about the situation again.
I’d think the owner who rosters CMC would want Mason the most, and the return will probably be pretty good. Throw Mason’s name on the trade block and see what offers trickle in.
Seattle Seahawks
There’s four Seattle players I’d be looking to move.
DK Metcalf is the most valuable. The 27-year-old wideout is having a fine season, but is dealing with an injury now. He’s expected back soon, so that shouldn’t alter his trade value all that much.
A return for Metcalf should include either a young wideout or two, or a package of rookie picks and younger players. Metcalf is one of the better fantasy wide receivers when he’s going well, and there’s still a few good seasons in him.
This is more of a sell-high situation with Metcalf, as I think his value will deteriorate over the years. Cash in now and reap the rewards in the future.
Geno Smith is a decent trade asset in dynasty leagues. He’s more on the streaming line than the weekly starting one, but in deeper leagues, he’s definitely got some value.
I’d be willing to tack a pick or two onto him to land one of the younger, unproven quarterbacks, or simply a younger QB. Smith’s future is certainly not locked in, and I’d try to cut bait before his value evaporates.
Tyler Lockett is another one who I’d want to trade. He’s 32 years old.
Lockett isn’t what he used to be, but he’s still producing enough to offer some value to contending teams for the stretch run. It won’t be a crazy return, but at some point Lockett is going to fall off, and I’d rather sell now and be better set up for my future than hold on to him.
Try to land a younger wideout, or maybe a couple rookie picks in return. The return you could get for him might surprise you, so throw his name out there and see what happens.
The last Seattle player I’d look to move is Noah Fant. He’s 27 years old.
Fant has been somewhat involved most of the season, but he’s a pretty inconsistent fantasy player. He’s only going to be desirable in deeper leagues, but getting a little something for him is better than him taking up a roster spot for years to come.
A late-round pick would do the trick for me.
