The MLB regular season gets in full swing this week, with most teams playing on Thursday.
After an eight-game NBA slate on Monday, March 24, let's take a look at the top performances from waiver wire options.
I recently looked at some “What Ifs” in this year's NFL draft and how teams might react to the draft unfolding in certain ways. Rather than looking at just a few spots in multiple scenarios, though, it can be more helpful to look at the bigger picture and how the dominos might fall for all teams.
A lot of significant players in the league are out with injury right now, and today we add three more to the list. Not all bad news, though, as we have a returning top defender in the mix.
How do you value a third-round pick in the NFL Draft versus a fourth- or fifth-round pick? How much does it matter being at the beginning of the round instead of the middle or end of the round? And how do teams decide what fair compensation is when trading picks before and during the draft?
That's a lot of questions, but luckily, we are here with a lot of answers. While there is no true catch-all draft value chart, there are two publicly available charts that are often used by analysts as stand-in values when projecting or evaluating draft trades.
Ward has separated himself has the clear QB1 in this class and is the most valuable asset in this year's draft. The Titans would be crazy to pass up on a true franchise quarterback when Will Levis is currently at the top of their depth chart.
2. Cleveland Browns - QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
Every team goes into the draft with a perfect scenario in mind. There are players they target who could fall into place in each round, or maybe the perfect trade will present itself. You experience the same feeling during a fantasy draft, though the stakes are obviously much lower.
The best general managers (and fantasy owners) are ready to adapt when things don't go according to plan, though, having plenty of contingency plans in place depending on who might be available when they are on the clock. We see every year that even the analysts who spend their entire lives following and predicting the draft don't know what's going to happen, and chaos can often be expected.
What is happening in Alberta? Is there something in the water, or has it turned completely to oil? The Edmonton Oilers' roster has become a hospital in the last week, losing several of their most important players, at the worst time possible, especially for fantasy leagues.
