Vinnie Pasquantino | Fantasy Outlook

Injured Hamate Sidelined Pasquantino; Power Power Outage Ahead Upon Mid-July Return

Vinnie Pasquantino was showing signs of life with a .294 batting average over his last 14 days, but his progress was halted by a right hand hamate injury on June 13. He has been placed on the 10-day injured list and is projected to be out until mid-July. Salvador Perez has shifted over to play first base for the last-place Royals, who currently sit at 30-45 in the AL Central.

Before going down, Pasquantino was laboring through a difficult season, batting just .224 with six home runs compared to his stellar 32-homer campaign in 2025. While our models projected a rest-of-season rebound toward a .260 batting average, hamate bone injuries are notorious for sapping a hitter's wrist strength and power. Fantasy managers should expect a significant adjustment period with limited slugging once he is activated.

The Royals continue their schedule with a weekend home series against the Cardinals, but Pasquantino will offer zero fantasy contribution from the training room. Ensure he is moved to an injured list slot in all formats, as he is still worth holding for his high-contact floor later this summer. Verdict: Sit.
