2023 Fantasy Baseball Week 15 Closer Tracker: Jordan Romano, Daniel Bard, More
Welcome to the Week 15 Closer Tracker!
In the chart below, I’ve created a Closer Tracker that will hopefully stay ahead of the closer curve. I’m going to update this every Friday for the rest of the season, so please feel free to send feedback if there’s anything you’d like to see.
The Closer Tracker is organized in three ways:
- In the left column, you’ll find my closer power rankings. This order is based on a mix of current statistics weighted (in my mind) with how I think these players will perform over the rest of the season.
- In the third column, you’ll see my best attempt at quantifying how stable a closer’s job is. Or said another way, how closely do you have to pay attention to this situation?
- In the right column, you’ll find the player who looks to be next in line. If you see SHAKY in the third column, you should probably grab the player next in line off the waiver wire.
Lastly, keep scrolling all the way to the bottom for my top takeaways. I promise this isn’t a marketing trick – I just don’t want to spoil the Closer Tracker.

Top Week 15 Closer Takeaways:
- Jordan Romano left the All-Star Game with a back injury. Hopefully that was just precautionary, but it's worth picking up Erik Swanson if you're chasing saves and/or have Romano on your fantasy roster.
- The Rockies don't provide many save opportunities, but Daniel Bard has joined the committee with Justin Lawrence and Pierce Johnson. Bit of a mess, but I'm going with Lawrence if I have to choose.
- Jose Alvardo has landed on the Injured List, which would seemingly erase any shakiness with Craig Kimbrel's job. Kimbrel has had a renaissance year at age 35, so enjoy the ride if you have him on your roster!
- Nick Anderson landed on the 60-day Injured List, so A.J. Minter will assume setup duties for the Braves.
- Kenyan Middletone has emerged as the setup guy for the White Sox.
- Lucas Sims is back in the setup role for the Reds, so he's good insurance for Alexis Diaz (who has moved up to #2 on the closer rankings!)
- Daniel Hudson is now on the 60-day Injured List, so Brusder Graterol gets a little more job security as the setup guy for the Dodgers.
- Shintaro Fujinami has taken over the setup role for the A's, but he can be ignored as the A's don't present many save opportunities so you don't really need Trevor May insurance.
