The final week of the MLB regular season is here, and now it’s time to help the fantasy baseball owners still battling for a title with some waiver wire options.

These players are all pulled off the Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups page. We skip starting pitchers in waiver wire stories because they are covered in daily streaming stories. The takeaway articles are another resource to find some of the hottest hitters and relief pitchers in the MLB.

We’ll give less details than usual in this waiver story, in an effort to point out more players. Let’s dive into things!

Luisangel Acuna Fantasy Outlook

Acuna remains one of the top waiver wire options after a few more strong games. He’s up to 29% rostered now.

He had three hits, including a double and a homer across games on Saturday and Sunday. He also walked once and was not a strikeout victim.

Acuna is hitting .379 across 29 MLB at-bats so far, so you can see why he’s being added. I’d add the young shortstop in any format - he’s one of the hottest hitters right now and should retain a starting role for the remainder of the regular season. He’s quickly moving his fantasy stock up for 2025 and beyond.

Victor Robles Fantasy Outlook

Robles has three hits, three stolen bases and three RBIs over the past three games. His own percentage is at 37.

He doesn’t have much pop (four homers), but he’s got a .310 average and 32 stolen bases over 232 at-bats this season. The only problem is that he’s not starting every game.

His lack of daily starts holds him back from being a standard league waiver option in my eyes. I’d add him in deeper leagues (he already should have been) and start him when he’s in the actual starting lineup for the Mariners.

Triston Casas Fantasy Outlook

Casas had a three-homer game over the weekend, so it’s no surprise to see his own percentage going up. He’s at 62% rostered now.

The only problem is that Casas doesn’t have a hit aside from the homers across the past four games, and he has five strikeouts in that span. He has walked three times and scored another run.

The home run power is nice to add, but with a subpar .241 average and lots of strikeouts across 191 at-bats, he’s a risky add in standard leagues. I’d probably try to find another player for a possible standard league add in what is the biggest matchup of the season.

Ezequiel Tovar Fantasy Outlook

Tovar has hits in six straight contests, so his own percentage is going up. He’s at 69% rostered.

Across the past six games, he’s got nine total hits, including two home runs and a double. Tovar also has seven RBIs, four runs scored, one walk and nine strikeouts over that span.

The strikeouts are a bit of a concern, but he offers some more hitting than Casas. He lacks in the power department, but it’s at least part of his game. I like adding Tovar over Casas, and think Tovar is actually pretty underrated as a fantasy player.

Trevor Story Fantasy Outlook

Story is back on the field and has five hits over the past four games. His own percentage sits at 23.

In this little four-game stretch, Story has a home run, double, two RBIs, three runs scored, two walks and seven strikeouts.

The punchouts are an issue for Story, but he’s playing often, offers some pop and is delivering enough hits to consider in all formats. His own percentage suggests he’s a better option in deeper leagues, and I’d agree with that.

Jordan Westburg Fantasy Outlook

Westburg returned to the field on Sunday and is seeing a nice jump in his own percentage as a result. He’s at 65% rostered now.

Westburg doubled, drove in a run and struck out once in his first game since July 31. He was enjoying a big season before going down and could provide a great late-season boost for fantasy teams.

He’s a bit of a risky add after just coming back from an injury, but I’d want to take a chance on him over pretty much anyone we’re going to talk about today. See if Westburg is available in your league.

Ozzie Albies Fantasy Outlook

Albies is back from his injury and has a couple hits across three games played. His own percentage has risen to 88.

Albies has a home run and single across his first three games back. He’s failed to walk and was a strikeout victim once.

There’s not a lot of fantasy leagues he’s available in, but he’s a big-time boost for the final week if you can add him. He’s also a bit of a risky pickup, but after homering Sunday, I’d be all for the move.

Porter Hodge Fantasy Outlook

Hodge is a rare relief pitcher to appear in a waiver wire story. He’s at 39% rostered.

Hodge earned saves in two games over the past four days. He allowed a hit and walk, but struck out two batters along the way and got the job done.

If you are looking for some possible saves in the final week of the season, Hodge is up there for the best option available to you. He could be added in all formats, and should be definitely added in keeper/dynasty leagues as a 23-year-old.

Dansby Swanson Fantasy Outlook

Swanson has five hits across the past five contests, so he’s a waiver wire option. He’s at 84% rostered right now.

Across those five games, he has eight hits, including a home run. Swanson also has two RBIs, six runs scored, a walk, a stolen base and two strikeouts in that span.

There’s not a lot of production outside the hits, but with not too many strikeouts, Swanson is a positive waiver wire option for the final week. Add him if you are looking for a player who can add a few fantasy points to your total, not a player who could single handedly shift the outcome of a fantasy matchup.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Fantasy Outlook

Gurriel has five hits over the past four games, so his own percentage is rising as a result. He’s at 77% rostered right now.

Gurriel has two home runs and a double among the five hits. He’s also got five RBIs, four runs scored, two walks and no strikeouts over that span.

That’s plenty of fantasy production to add Gurriel in a standard league for the final week of the season. The home run potential is a nice bonus.

Luke Weaver Fantasy Outlook

Weaver earned two saves and a win over the past week, so his own percentage continues to rise. He’s at 40% right now.

He’s pitching in high-leverage situations right now, which is exactly what you want out of a fantasy reliever. I’d add him just because he’s getting saves.

Weaver also has 101 strikeouts over 83 innings pitched this season, so there’s a ton of fantasy value just in the punchouts. He’s got a 2.93 ERA, so I honestly don’t know why Weaver isn’t rostered in more leagues. Add him over Hodge if you need a fantasy reliever for the final week of play.
