Waiver Wire Options
We'll look at the top-25 waiver wire pickups, which were all pulled from the Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups page.
Bol is the top waiver addition, and it should come as no surprise given some of his recent numbers. He's up 25.8% today alone.
Bol has scored in double figures in three straight games, which lines up with him getting more playing time. He can stuff the stat sheet, and is a great waiver wire pickup in deeper leagues right now.
I'd even consider streaming Bol in a standard league, but only if I had a roster spot to play with. If you aren't going to pick him up, keep a very close eye on him, because his own percentage could continue to skyrocket over the next few days.
O'Neale (up 6.76%), Jones (up 5.12%) and Grayson Allen (up 4.17%, 48.91% overall) are three other Suns on the rise. You know why O'Neale and Jones are on the rise based on seeing their performances in the last game.
Allen has been a bit streaky over the past several games. He scored nine points last night after scoring 21 points in his previous game. Even more alarming last night was that he only played 19 minutes. I still think Allen is a fine option in deeper leagues, but would not add him in standard leagues.
Portland's Donovan Clingan is the No. 2 waiver pickup today. He's up 13.25% and sitting at 38.74% overall now.
Clingan starred in his last game on Monday, scoring 21 points on 8-for-8 shooting. He also had seven rebounds and one block in the contest.
The rookie is an intriguing waiver wire option, and I get why so many deep-league owners are adding him. He'll need to keep scoring in double figures in order to remain a valuable fantasy asset.
Bryant is the No. 3 waiver pickup, up 10.6% on the day. Along with his performance on Tuesday, Bryant has scored in double figures in four straight. He has four assists and at least eight rebounds in those contests too.
Bryant is another good addition for those of you in deeper leagues. I'd take advantage of things while I could instead of waiting to see if he can keep things up.
Indiana's Obi Toppin (up 3.04%, 12.35% overall), Ben Sheppard (up 2.15%, 5.08% overall) and Mathurin (up 2.02%) are also on the waiver list.
Toppin has at least nine points in five of the past six games, and a fair amount of rebounds over that span. He's an OK addition in really deep leagues, but probably only if he continues to play 20+ minutes a night.
Sheppard has scored at least nine points in four straight games. He doesn't provide much else most nights, and his minutes have varied from 13-27 over that short span, so he's a risky fantasy play. There's probably better options available to you.
Mathurin has at least 12 points in four straight games, and nine or more points in eight straight. He chips in enough other stats to be a pretty good fantasy asset most nights. Mathurin shouldn't be rostered in all leagues, but should stick between 70-85% most of the season.
Grimes is up 7.71% today. He's getting a healthy amount of playing time and producing pretty well with his new team.
Given the 76ers' injury woes, I really like the idea of adding Grimes. He'll have nights where he's a top-three scoring option for the team before the season wraps up.
Guerschon Yabusele is another 76er on the waiver list. He's up 2.78% and rostered in 66.59% of leagues.
He's been streaky over the past three games, but has scored at least eight points in eight straight contests. Yabusele usually rebounds pretty well too. He's another one who has stepped up several times when the top-end Philly players have missed games.
Max Christie is still a heavily-added waiver guy. He's up 6.02% and rostered in 59.81% of leagues.
He's scored at least 15 points in every game he's played for Dallas. Christie adds in enough other stats to produce good fantasy scores every night too. He needs to be rostered in all deeper leagues, and can be streamed in standard leagues if you have a roster spot to play with.
Spencer Dinwiddie (up 2.4%, 28.81% overall) and Olivier-Maxence Prosper (up 1.95%, 3.18% overall) are two other Mavs on the rise.
Dinwiddie has a pair of 20-point performances over the past three games, and scored 10 points in the third contest. He adds in a few other numbers to be a pretty solid deep-league option, at least until Anthony Davis returns.
Prosper played 33 minutes in the team's last game. He had 16 points, four rebounds and an assist and steal in his time on the court. I need to see more before I'm convinced he's here to stay as a fantasy asset, but I also understand really deep fantasy league owners adding him now.
Some Other Options
Aaron Wiggins is up 4.89% and rostered in 50.61% of leagues now.
Chicago's Matas Buzelis is up 4.8% and owned in 68.04% of leagues, while Jalen Smith was added in 3.76% of leagues and is rostered in 19.13% overall.
Detroit's Thompson is owned in 82.08% of leagues after another 4.76% bump.
Aldama is up 4.46% and owned in 76.76% of leagues. Clarke is up 3.32% and owned in 11.86% of leagues. Zach Edey is rostered in 77.48% of leagues after a 2.97% increase.
Precious Achiuwa was added in 3.91% of leagues and is rostered in 32.69% overall now.
Alex Len is up 3.67% after being added to the Lakers' roster. He's owned in 4.4% of leagues overall.
Toronto's Jonathan Mogbo is up 2.58% and owned in 14.53% overall now. Dick is up 1.82% and at 51.57% overall now.
