Week 6 Fantasy Football Streaming Options: Jaylen Warren Leads The Way
RB Najee Harris has gotten off to a rough start for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. As a result, HC Mike Tomlin has made it very clear this week that RB Jaylen Warren has been getting more reps and will continue to receive them.
Geno Smith continues to be red-hot in 2022, which makes him a great QB streaming option at QB this week like he has been in most weeks this regular season. We’ll also take a look at a few more offensive players who we think you should consider throwing into the mix for your fantasy football lineups before the weekend picks up.
Quarterbacks
QB Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks
You can’t really go wrong by starting Geno Smith in fantasy this week. Even in games where the Seahawks lose, Smith is putting up strong numbers. This season, he’s completed an impressive 75.2% of his passes for 1,305 yards nine touchdowns and just two interceptions. Despite losing against the Saints on Sunday, Smith threw for 268 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. It makes sense to start him as the Seahawks have been rolling with Smith at QB. While they won't win each time Geno plays well, he's been a great surprise for fans and fantasy owners alike this season.
Running Backs
RB Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are at home this weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So far this season, RB Najee Harris has disappointed. He had an abysmal game against the Bills’ defense in Week 5 where he had 11 carries for just 20 rushing yards (1.8 AVG). In five carries against the Bills, Jaylen Warren produced 24 rushing yards (4.8 AVG).
In fact, Warren is averaging more than a yard per carry more than Harris in 2022. As the Steelers struggle at QB, their offense should rely heavily on the running game against Tampa Bay this weekend. In turn, Warren should see an increase in his share of the carries as a result of Harris’ struggles this season.
RB Chase Edmonds, Miami Dolphins
Miami’s offense is dealing with some issues at the QB position and will likely have Teddy Bridgewater starting in Week 6, which will push the Dolphins to give more carries to Chase Edmonds. RB Raheem Mostert is listed as questionable for the Dolphins’ Week 6 contest against the 4-1 Minnesota Vikings. If Mostert doesn’t play, expect Edmonds to see a fair share of the load. The RB out of Fordham University already has 86 rushing yards, 68 receiving yards, and three total touchdowns for the Dolphins this season. While he doesn’t produce as much yardage as a guy like Mostert, he certainly has gotten into the end zone more. In addition, it sounds like Mostert is not 100% heading into Week 6, which really could give Edmonds an opportunity to erupt for a huge game against the Vikings.
Wide Receivers
WR Garrett Wilson, New York Jets
The Jets stomped over the Dolphins in Week 5, but it came from four combined touchdowns from RBs Breece Hall and Michael Carter Jr. Zach Wilson completed 66.7% of his passes for 210 yards but did not see the end zone. Expect the Wilson-to-Wilson QB/WR duo to link up more than they did in their second week together. This season, the rookie wideout has 282 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He has gotten off to a slower start in the month of October, but he should produce more in the weeks to come as he gets acclimated with New York’s true QB1 instead of Joe Flacco.
Tight Ends
TE Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints
I’ve already added Taysom Hill from the waiver-wire and included him in my fantasy roster as my Flex for this week. In Week 5, the Saints’ swiss-army knife listed as a TE but also RB, WR, and QB had three touchdowns to lead New Orleans to a 39-32 victory over Seattle in the Superdome. Hill produced 35+ FPTS in most leagues, the most of all tight ends alongside Travis Kelce who had four touchdowns (but just 25 receiving yards) in Week 5.
