It’s time for another NFL team fantasy football preview.

Check back soon for more team previews. Of course, things will change between now and the start of the season, and FantasySP will cover any major changes when those happen.

Here’s all the team previews we’ve already covered:

AFC: Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars

NFC: San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants

Let’s talk about the Seattle Seahawks next.

Geno Smith Fantasy Outlook

Smith is back for another season as the Seahawks starting quarterback. He’s performed better than anyone expected he might after joining the team in 2020.

In 15 games last season, Smith completed 323 of his 499 passes for 3,624 yards, 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He had 4,282 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2022.

Smith added 155 rushing yards and a touchdown on 37 attempts a season ago. He had 366 yards and a score in 2022, so his lack of running also affected his fantasy production.

The Seattle offense is pretty much the exact same as a season ago, so there’s no reason why Smith couldn’t be a serviceable fantasy option for several weeks this season.

Smith is opening the season as a streaming option in most standard leagues. He’s QB24 and going around pick 175.

I also would treat Smith as a streaming option, instead of someone to target late in a fantasy draft. He’s got more value in deeper leagues and two-QB leagues. Smith will have weeks in which he’s startable in any format, but he isn’t likely to be an every-week option.

Running Back Fantasy Outlooks

Kenneth Walker III is back as RB1 in Seattle, while Zach Charbonnet is the top backup option.

Walker went a touch backward in his second NFL season. In 15 games, he rushed for 905 yards and eight touchdowns. Walker had 1,050 yards and nine scores in his rookie season in 2022.

Walker had 29 receptions on 37 targets for 259 yards and a touchdown last season. He had 27 grabs on 35 targets for 165 yards and no touchdowns as a rookie.

Charbonnet was a rookie last season, playing in 16 games overall. He rushed for 462 yards and a touchdown on 108 attempts. Charbonnet caught 33 of his 40 targets for 209 yards and no scores.

Walker is the clear top dog in the Seattle backfield. He’s RB16 and going around pick 44 in fantasy drafts so far.

Walker didn’t take the step forward a lot of people expected last season, but if he’s able to replicate his first two seasons, that’s good value for his current ADP. While I’d prefer him in the 50s instead of 40s, I think he’s a fairly safe pick, with enough upside to warrant a pick around his ADP.

Charbonnet is RB41 and goes around pick 124. I don’t envision a large role for Charbonnet if Walker is healthy all season, but if he can add a couple more touchdowns to what he did a season ago, Charbonnet is a guy who could fill in as a starter during some heavy bye weeks. I’d prefer him later than his current ADP, but also don’t see any RBs going after him that I’d want over Charbonnet.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Outlooks

DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba form a really solid receiver trio for the Seahawks. Jake Bobo, Laviska Shenault Jr. and Dee Eskridge are the top backups right now.

Metcalf played in 16 games a season ago. He hauled in 66 of his 119 targets for 1,114 yards and eight touchdowns. Metcalf has at least 900 yards and six touchdowns in every season in his five-year career, so he’s got a pretty safe floor.

Lockett has played every season in his nine-year career with Seattle. In 17 games a season ago, he had 894 yards and five touchdowns on 79 catches and 122 targets. It was his first time below 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns since 2019.

Smith-Njigba appeared in all 17 games as a rookie. He made 63 receptions on 93 targets for 628 yards and four scores.

Bobo appeared in 17 games in his first NFL action last season. He made 19 catches on 25 targets for 196 yards and two scores. Bobo also had a 3-yard rushing touchdown.

Eskridge was in just four games for the Seahawks a season ago. He failed to haul in his only target and had two rushing attempts for five yards.

Shenault was with the Panthers a season ago, playing in eight games. He made receptions on all 10 of his targets, going for 60 yards and no scores. Shenault had 12 rushing attempts for 55 yards.

Metcalf is the top Seattle wideout off draft boards so far. He’s WR22 and going around pick 42.

Metcalf finished better than that a season ago, so I like the value of possibly landing Metcalf around his ADP. He’s got a safe floor and should be startable pretty much every week.

JSN is WR46 and going around pick 107, while Lockett is WR51 and around pick 127.

I too think Smith-Njigba overtakes Lockett this season, and like the value he presents around his ADP. JSN could be a flex starting option if he takes a step forward this season. I like a couple other receivers going after him a touch more, but would take JSN if he fell a round or so.

Lockett has been so good for so long, but I am not a fan of his ADP this season. I see last year as the start of a downward trend at the end of his career. He’ll still have some productive games and maybe be a streaming option from time to time, but I’d prefer to fill out my roster with another receiver and let someone else take Lockett. I like him in deeper leagues, but not so much in standard leagues.

None of the other Seattle receivers are standard league options to begin the season. They would likely need a couple injuries to the top three wideouts in order to hold big enough roles to warrant a fantasy start in deeper leagues. I’d avoid the wideouts outside the big three outside of really deep fantasy leagues.

Tight End Fantasy Outlooks

Noah Fant is the projected starter at tight end for Seattle. Pharaoh Brown and rookie AJ Barner are backup options.

Fant had a solid season across 17 games with Seattle last season, but didn’t score. He had 414 yards on 32 catches and 43 targets.

Brown was with the Patriots last season, playing in 17 games. He made 13 grabs on 15 targets for 208 yards and a touchdown.

Barner was a fourth-round pick in the 2024 draft. He didn’t do a whole lot across three collegiate seasons with Indiana and Michigan, but did score five touchdowns.

None of the Seattle tight ends are big standard league fantasy options. Fant is TE24 and going around pick 193.

Fant could become a streaming option in standard leagues, but is a better deep league option who could start in those leagues fairly often.

Brown and Barner shouldn’t be drafted in any fantasy leagues, and probably would not be big fantasy assets even if Fant were to miss time.
