NFL Power Rankings Week 9: Bills and Commanders Jump Into Top 5
The latest NFL power rankings heading into Week 9.
NFL Power Rankings
32. Tennessee Titans
Last Week: 31
The Titans got destroyed again and find themselves back in the league's basement once again.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars
Last Week: 30
The Jags were surprisingly competitive against the Packers, even if Jordan Love was banged up. They were competitive but lost.
30. Las Vegas Raiders
Last Week: 29
The Raiders continue to spiral down the drain and there is no hope for them moving forward.
29. Carolina Panthers
Last Week: 27
The Bryce Young experience is never a good one. Hopefully, they get Andy Dalton back soon. If they declare Young the starter even once Dalton is healthy, they will plummet to the bottom of these rankings.
28. New Orleans Saints
Last Week: 26
The Saints are terrible and were once again blown out this week - this time, by the mediocre-at-best Chargers.
27. New York Jets
Last Week: 25
What a nightmare season for the Jets. Can't say we didn't see it coming. We're just surprised everyone didn't see this coming.
26. New England Patriots
Last Week: 32
The Pats make a huge leap this week, jumping over the worst of the worst. This should be the bar for this league. Any team at the Patriots or lower are absolutely pathetic.
25. New York Giants
Last Week: 24
The Giants continue to slip after another loss on Monday Night Football.
24. Miami Dolphins
Last Week: 23
Even with Tua Tagovailoa back, the Dolphins couldn't get the job done against Arizona thanks to a comedy of errors. That will be the loss that officially sunk their season.
23. Cleveland Browns
Last Week: 28
The Browns somehow knocked off the Ravens this week. Getting rid of Deshaun Watson has potentially breathed some life back into this team, much like it did last season.
22. Seattle Seahawks
Last Week: 18
The Seahawks continued to expose themselves as frauds while getting blown off the field by the Bills.
21. Indianapolis Colts
Last Week: 20
The Colts lost a heartbreaker to the Texans this week. Indy has officially benched Anthony Richardson for Joe Flacco, which could change this team's course for the better moving forward.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last Week: 19
The short-handed Bucs lost a tough game to the Falcons on Sunday which could go a long way to determining the NFC South.
19. Los Angeles Chargers
Last Week: 22
The mediocre Chargers beat up on the lowly Saints this week. Color us unimpressed, but they still make a jump.
18. Cincinnati Bengals
Last Week: 16
It looks like those slow starts finally caught up with Cincy. Another loss this week to the Eagles makes any hopes of making the playoffs a massive uphill climb.
17. Dallas Cowboys
Last Week: 14
This just isn't a very good team and their sub-500 record reflects that.
16. Chicago Bears
Last Week: 13
The Bears were a Hail Mary away from jumping in the other direction this week. That was a brutal loss to the Commanders.
15. Los Angeles Rams
Last Week: 21
The Rams are getting healthy and had a big win against the Vikings. This could be a team to be reckoned with down the stretch.
14. Denver Broncos
Last Week: 17
Denver has a strong offense and is slowly piecing things together on offense. They are far from a juggernaut, but they are a tough team to beat each week.
13. Arizona Cardinals
Last Week: 15
Without looking it up, who do you think is currently in first place in the NFC West? Hint: It's the Cardinals.
12. San Francisco 49ers
Last Week: 12
A win against Dallas helps San Fran maintain their position in the top 12.
11. Atlanta Falcons
Last Week: 11
The Falcons deserve to climb up after such a big division win, but there is just nowhere for them to go.
10. Minnesota Vikings
Last Week: 4
The Vikings lost their second game in a row this week and it feels like we are watching their collapse in real time, along with Sam Darnold inevitably coming unglued.
9. Philadelphia Eagles
Last Week: 10
Philly climbed one spot after knocking off the desperate Bengals this week. This team is beginning to look much better than they did early in the season.
8. Pittsburgh Steelers
Last Week: 9
The Steelers just keep on doing what they do and they are doing it while sitting atop the AFC North.
7. Baltimore Ravens
Last Week: 2
Every time we buy into the Ravens they somehow suffer one of these brutal losses. Two of their three losses this season have been at the hands of the Raiders and Browns.
6. Houston Texans
Last Week: 6
The Texans won this week, but lost Stefon Diggs in the process. This team doesn't look like a real threat in the AFC when you watch them.
5. Green Bay Packers
Last Week: 5
The Packers gutted out a win this week, but they gutted it out against the Jags. That won't drop them, however, they also won't be climbing up the ladder.
4. Washington Commanders
Last Week: 8
Jayden Daniels and the Commanders are for real. They aren't quite there yet but this is going to be a dangerous team for anyone to play.
3. Buffalo Bills
Last Week: 7
The Bills are running away with the AFC East after dismantling the Seahawks. They can essentially lock up the division this week with a win over Miami.
2. Detroit Lions
Last Week: 3
The Lions are back up at No. 2 and they deserve to be here. Even without Aiden Hutchinson, this is the best team in the NFC.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Last Week: 1
We are getting to the point that even if the Chiefs do finally win a game they may not fall out of the top spot.
