Patriots
Rhamondre Stevenson dominated the Pats’ backfield, getting 21 touches across 56 snaps played. Antonio Gibson had seven touches across 17 snaps, while JaMycal Hasty only played one snap.
Stevenson is still the top back for New England, but in the right matchups, Gibson has a little starting appeal.
Jets
Breece Hall, Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis all were involved in week 13. Hall played 42 snaps and got 12 touches, while Allen was at seven touches across 19 snaps. Davis got four touches across 12 snaps.
Hall isn’t the asset many fantasy owners hoped for this season, and now it looks like he might have his workload limited for the rest of the season. There’s enough favorable matchups left to keep playing him, but I wouldn’t feel great about it.
Allen and Davis had a little appeal in deeper leagues, but with so few touches, I’d do my best to stay away from them too.
Bills
James Cook got 15 touches across 26 snaps and had a nice fantasy showing in week 13. Ray Davis also performed well across his 12 touches and 19 snaps. Ty Johnson had six touches across 16 snaps.
Cook is still the one you want to start, but Davis or Johnson could also be deep-league starting options in the right matchups.
Dolphins
De'Von Achane led the backfield with 15 touches across 49 snaps. Raheem Mostert got seven touches across 25 snaps and Jaylen Wright only played one snap.
Achane is still a weekly starter, while everyone else should probably be avoided outside really favorable matchups.
Ravens
Derrick Henry got 22 touches across 37 snaps and remains a must-start fantasy player.
Justice Hill had seven touches across 36 snaps, and has a little deep league appeal in super favorable matchups.
Steelers
Najee Harris led the backfield with 22 touches across 36 snaps. He should be starting in most leagues.
Jaylen Warren had seven touches across 25 snaps and is a flex-level option in the right matchups. Cordarrelle Patterson had six touches across 10 snaps and could be started in some really deep leagues when the matchup is right.
Bengals
Chase Brown got 15 touches across 50 snaps, and is very close to being a must-start fantasy player.
Khalil Herbert only got one touch across six snaps. He’s just a handcuff to Brown.
Browns
Nick Chubb went for 11 touches across 29 snaps, while Jerome Ford had 10 touches across 57 snaps.
Neither are really good fantasy options, especially if they continue to split the backfield work. I wouldn’t mind playing them in deeper leagues in really favorable matchups though.
Texans
Joe Mixon dominated the backfield, getting 24 touches across 47 snaps. He’s a must-start player at this point.
Dameon Pierce got one touch across seven snaps, while Dare Ogunbowale didn’t receive a touch across nine snaps. Those two would only become fantasy relevant if Mixon were to miss more time with an injury.
Titans
Tony Pollard got 12 of the 13 backfield touches across his 40 snaps played. He’s the Tennessee fantasy back you want to be playing.
Tyjae Spears got only one touch across 14 snaps. He’s no more than a handcuff at this point.
Colts
Jonathan Taylor got all 26 backfield touches and played 55 snaps. He should be the only Indy back you consider, and he’s close to being a must-start player.
Trey Sermon played five snaps, while Tyler Goodson was at just one snap. They won’t be fantasy relevant unless Taylor is out with an injury.
Jaguars
Travis Etienne had 16 touches across 37 snaps, while Tank Bigsby had eight touches across 32 snaps.
If those two continue to split the backfield, neither will be good fantasy starting options. I’d give Etienne the edge for now, but the backfield could also switch in Bigsby’s favor at any point.
Broncos
Jaleel McLaughlin led the Denver backfield with 15 touches across 24 snaps. Javonte Williams had five touches across 30 snaps, while Audric Estime only had three touches across eight snaps.
This backfield is one to avoid most weeks, as there’s no clear leader. McLaughlin looks like the best starting option for the next game, but it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Williams or Estime led the backfield in the team’s next game.
Chiefs
Isiah Pacheco returned to the field and got eight touches across 26 snaps. Kareem Hunt had nine touches across 27 snaps. Pacheco was far more efficient, and will probably see his workload increase with each passing week - he’s my top fantasy back for KC already.
Samaje Perine had just one touch across 18 snaps, while Carson Steele didn’t get a touch across three snaps. Both those guys can be dropped in just about all formats.
Raiders
Alexander Mattison and Zamir White were out with injuries, so it was Sincere McCormick and Ameer Abdullah who led the backfield. McCormick had 14 touches across 26 snaps, while Abdullah played 42 snaps and got 12 touches.
McCormick and Abdullah would lead the backfield again if Mattison and White continue to sit out, but none of the Vegas backs are very good fantasy options at this point.
Chargers
With J.K. Dobbins out, Gus Edwards, Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins split the Chargers’ backfield. Edwards had seven touches across 24 snaps, while Vidal had four touches across 12 snaps. Haskins was at just one touch across seven snaps.
I’d expect a committee in LA until Dobbins can maybe get back on the field. The LA backs are only real fantasy options in deeper leagues, at least until a clear leader emerges.
Eagles
Saquon Barkley dominated the Eagles’ backfield again in week 13, getting 25 of the 26 touches and played 49 snaps. Keep starting him every week.
Cowboys
Rico Dowdle had a nice fantasy showing across his 25 touches and 53 snaps. He’s the Dallas back you’d want to start.
Ezekiel Elliott only got a touch across nine snaps. He’s just a handcuff at this point.
Giants
Tyrone Tracy had 11 touches across 46 snaps this past week. Devin Singletary had seven touches across 13 snaps, while Eric Gray played four snaps.
Tracy is the best fantasy option right now, but he’s not a very safe fantasy starting option. I’d prefer to only play him in deeper leagues, and Singletary could be a deep-league starter in a really favorable defensive matchup.
Commanders
With Austin Ekeler out of the picture, Brian Robinson led the way for Washington, while Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols backed him up.
Robinson is the best starting option after getting 17 touches across 39 snaps. Rodriguez got 13 touches across 23 snaps, doing almost all of his work in the fourth quarter. McNichols had six touches across 21 snaps. Keep an eye on the backfield and see if Rodriguez maybe overtakes McNichols for the backup role.
Vikings
Aaron Jones had just eight touches across 28 snaps, while Cam Akers had four touches across 16 snaps. Ty Chandler had two touches across five snaps.
Jones still looks like the Vikings’ back to start, but Akers could overtake him in the coming weeks. I wouldn’t feel great starting any Minnesota backs until things get sorted out a bit.
Packers
Josh Jacobs got 23 touches across 42 snaps and is a must-start player at this point.
Chris Brooks had five touches across 15 snaps, while Emanuel Wilson had two touches across four snaps. Those two are just handcuffs as long as Jacobs is healthy.
Bears
D'Andre Swift had 13 touches across 46 snaps. Roschon Johnson only played two snaps, while Travis Homer was on the field for 19 snaps.
Swift is the guy you want to be starting right now. Homer might fill the backup role with Johnson banged up, but only Swift is a fantasy starting option.
Lions
David Montgomery got 24 touches across 28 snaps, while Jahmyr Gibbs had 11 touches across 32 snaps. You can keep playing both backs confidently.
Falcons
Bijan Robinson got 32 touches across 61 snaps, and is a must-start player right now.
Tyler Allgeier played 24 snaps and got nine touches. He has some starting appeal when the defensive matchup is favorable.
Buccaneers
Bucky Irving continued to lead the Bucs’ backfield, getting 28 touches across 43 snaps. Rachaad White had 12 touches across 42 snaps, while Sean Tucker didn’t log a snap.
Irving is the best fantasy option right now, and White still has starting appeal when the matchup is favorable.
Panthers
Chuba Hubbard got 12 touches across 55 snaps, while Jonathon Brooks had nine touches across 15 snaps.
Hubbard is still the top fantasy option for Carolina, but you should keep tabs on Brooks moving forward. Both could be starting options in the right defensive matchups.
Saints
Alvin Kamara had 27 touches across 60 snaps, and should be starting in every league every week.
Jamaal Williams got a touch across four snaps, but is just a handcuff to Kamara.
Rams
Kyren Williams continues to power the Rams’ backfield. He had 16 touches across 38 snaps and should be starting every week at this point.
Blake Corum got eight touches across 18 snaps. He’s worth keeping an eye on, in case the touches continue to pile up.
Seahawks
Kenneth Walker had 18 touches across 39 snaps, and is the top Seattle fantasy back. Zach Charbonnet had an OK fantasy day across six touches and 29 snaps.
Walker isn’t a must-start fantasy player, but he should be playing most weeks. Charbonnet has some starting appeal in really favorable matchups.
49ers
Jordan Mason and Christian McCaffrey led the backfield in week 13, but are both on the injured reserve list now.
That means that Isaac Guerendo is likely to serve as the team’s top back moving forward. You can read more of my thoughts on the situation here.
Cardinals
James Conner continued to power the Arizona backfield, getting 20 touches across 48 snaps. He should be starting most weeks.
Emari Demercado got four touches across 22 snaps, while Trey Benson had three touches across 13 snaps. Neither should be starting in any fantasy leagues, and only would have fantasy relevance if Conner misses time.
