Hunter Goodman | Fantasy Outlook

Hunter Goodman is on an absolute power tear, making him a must-start fantasy catcher.

Hunter Goodman is incredibly hot at the plate, slugging .909 with four home runs and eight RBI over his last six games. This power surge is a rare bright spot for the fifth-place Rockies, who sit at 24-42 in the division and are trying to break out of a four-game losing streak. With multiple teammates on the injured list, Goodman has firmly secured his role as the primary starting catcher while frequently serving as the designated hitter.

With 17 home runs in just 60 games, Goodman is easily outstripping his career baseline and closing in fast on our 20-homer projection. While his high strikeout rate maintains some batting average risk, his elite barrel rates and Coors Field home games make this power spike look very real, solidifying his status as a top-ten fantasy option behind the plate.

Colorado has six games scheduled this week, beginning with a three-game homestand against Chicago before heading to Oakland. Goodman draws highly favorable matchups against high-ERA starters like Colin Rea and Edward Cabrera, and our models project him to slug over two home runs with four RBI this week.
