Week 17 NFL Props To Target
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers OVER 240.5 passing yards
Analysis: You know that Rodgers has had this game circled on his calendar for months. The Vikings embarrassed the Packers early in the season and now in a must-win situation at home, I can't imagine that Rodgers is not going to throw for about 250 yards and at least two touchdowns. I know he’s been a fantasy disappointment for most of 2022 but Fantasy Football is all about exploiting the matchups and I'm not afraid to use him this week for that very reason.
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions OVER 245.5 passing yards
Analysis: I can't believe that here I am in Week 17 and I'm endorsing playing Jared Goff. That just shows you what kind of crazy year we've had in fantasy football. But to his credit, Goff has been really good and I love him playing at home against a Bears defense that has struggled against the pass for what feels like months. I can see the Lions putting up 30 this week and I don't want to miss out on Goff’s potentially huge game.
Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons UNDER 179.5 passing yards
Analysis: Earlier this week Ridder’s prop was at 170.5 and I was debating which direction I was going to head. Now on Friday, Ridder’s prop is up to 179.5 passing yards and I have found my clear direction—UNDER. Atlanta has a thriving rushing attack with Tyler Allgeier and Cordarelle Patterson and I think HC Arthur Smith would prefer to limit Ridder’s attempts as much as possible. If the Falcons are running as well as I think they will against Arizona, there won’t be much room for Ridder to make big plays. Give me the under here.
Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks OVER 68.5 rushing yards
Analysis: It's very hard to throw against the Jets' defense as we've seen all season long and with Walker back playing so well last week I think we have to ride him at home in a game where he should have 20 to 25 touches. Even against a tough jets defense, 20 carries at 3.5 ypc gives us 70 rushing yards which gets us to the over.
James Conner, Arizona Cardinals OVER 70.5 rushing yards
Analysis: Kyler Murray's injury has opened the door for fantasy football managers to use Conner who has gotten more opportunities over the past few weeks than he's had all season. In a game against the Falcons which should be lower scoring, I can see Conner getting about 15 to 20 rushes along with three to five receptions which should easily make him one of the top plays of the week.
Brian Robinson, Washington Commanders OVER 65.5 rushing yards
Analysis: Antonio Gibson is out this week and Washington is going to need to limit Carson Wentz’s passing attempts as we all know he is terrible in pressure situations. Enter Robinson who has been their best running back all season and against a Browns run defense that has let up 5.24 yards per carry, I think that if Robinson gets 15 carries he should be a stone-cold lock for this over.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions OVER 75.5 receiving yards
Analysis: When we look back at 2022 I think one of the stories will be the improvement of the Detroit Lions. A big part of that has been the quarterback play of Jared Goff and of course the wide receiver play of Amon-Ra St. Brown. While he doesn't have huge touchdown equity in PPR formats he's normally good for 18 to 24 points a week and I couldn't imagine not locking him into my visionary prop bets for the week.
Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers OVER 56.5 receiving yards
Analysis: Sometimes players are simply “Due”, and Mike Evans is that player in Week 17. Evans has struggled for the last couple of months and in fact, his last big game was against Carolina (nine catches for 96 yards). Now with the Panthers having monumental injuries in their secondary and the Buccaneers needing this game desperately to make the playoffs, I feel confident that Evans will not only surpass this over but find the end zone too. In fact, let’s parlay this bet and pop bottles after it hits.
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets OVER 26.5 receiving yards
Analysis: One of the more underrated statistics has been the Seattle Seahawks' stellar play against opposing wide receivers. They've been very effective but very weak against opposing running backs and especially against opposing tight ends. I want to take advantage of that, and I want to get Conklin into my lineups, especially with Mike White back at QB who is not afraid to sling the ball around. Conklin is the ultimate trifecta player: I love him as a prop bet, as a sneaky DFS play, and for an anytime TD too!
