Morgan conducts his fifth fantasy football draft of the year, selecting fourth in a 12-team standard setup.

It’s time for another fantasy football mock draft!

After having a sour taste in my mouth after the last mock draft, I decided to do another 12-team PPR mock. It was done with the FantasySP mock draft simulator

I’m sticking with the settings from the first four mocks I’ve done: one QB, two RB, two WR, one TE and one flex and then seven bench spots. I went with pick four for this mock.

Let’s get into it!

Round 1 - Bijan Robinson

I chose pick four because after Christian McCaffrey, Tyreek Hill and CeeDee Lamb, fantasy owners can go in a lot of different directions. I decided to go for the most upside in picking Robinson.

He should be more of a workhorse back in his second season in the NFL. Robinson has some other offensive playmakers to contend with, but I expect him to get 20-plus touches a game. He could easily be the top fantasy back (and maybe top player overall), so I like him over Breece Hall, Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase and others.

Round 2 - Derrick Henry

I was hoping to snag a receiver in round two, but I just couldn’t pass on Henry. I love his fantasy outlook in Baltimore and think he’s got a chance to be a top-five fantasy RB if he can stay healthy.

Round 3 - Mike Evans

I got my receiver in round three instead, and went with the reliable Evans. Nico Collins and Cooper Kupp were also options, but I went with the guy who’s proven over and over again to be his team’s top receiver.

Round 4 - DeVonta Smith

In the fourth, I took my second receiver in Smith. I think he’s one of the best No. 2 WRs in fantasy, and like his floor and upside more than Stefon Diggs, who was the other option at this pick.

Round 5 - Tee Higgins

I decided to get my third straight receiver in round five with Higgins. I was really hoping Amari Cooper was going to fall to this pick, but went with Higgins (who I’m expecting a huge season from) over guys like Malik Nabers, Zay Flowers and George Pickens.

Round 6 - Raheem Mostert

I got another running back in the sixth with Mostert. I’m a huge fan of him and his ADP this season, and try to take him whenever I can. With the roster setup I laid out before, I already have my two RB and WR starters and then two good flex options - that means I can start filling some other positions and taking gambles on some higher upside players.

Round 7 - Jordan Love

I got my starting quarterback finally, taking Love in the seventh. He finished last season extremely hot, and if he keeps that up, another top-five fantasy season could happen. This late in a draft, I’m more than pleased with him as QB1.

Round 8 - Christian Watson

I took Love’s teammate Watson in the eighth. I mentioned before how I could take a gamble on some higher upside players, and that’s exactly what I did here. If Watson is healthy all season, he could be the Packers’ WR1 and be a weekly fantasy starter because of his nose for the end zone.

Round 9 - Ladd McConkey

I went with more of an unknown in round nine with McConkey. Justin Herbert has to throw the ball to someone, and McConkey could very easily be the team’s top option in 2024. It’s a riskier pick, but already having starters lined up and decent depth at RB and WR, I’m fine taking this risk.

Round 10 - Jayden Daniels

I saw Daniels on the top of the QB list right after taking Love and was tempted to go QB in back-to-back rounds. I held off, but couldn’t wait any longer, so I got Daniels here. He’s a really solid fantasy QB2, and could be fantastic trade bait if he stars as a rookie.

Round 11 - Chuba Hubbard

After neglecting the running back position for awhile, I went with Hubbard in the 11th round. He’ll open the season as the Carolina starter, and even when Jonathan Brooks gets back, I think Hubbard could still be the featured back for a while. There’s not much risk with this pick, and if Brooks is integrated into the offense slowly, Hubbard will be playable far longer than expected, meaning he’d be a draft steal.

Round 12 - Pat Freiermuth

I honestly was thinking about going the entire draft without taking a tight end, but got nervous when several TEs disappeared over the last couple rounds. I grabbed one of my possible streaming options with Freiermuth, who has a chance to consistently deliver in a Pittsburgh offense lacking enough playmakers.

Round 13 - Adonai Mitchell

I debated taking the versatile Taysom Hill here, but the upside of Mitchell was too much to pass on. Like the McConkey pick, this is a lottery ticket for his team. He could become trade bait if he excels as a rookie.

Round 14 - Tyler Conklin

After missing out on Hill, I decided to grab another streaming option at tight end in Conklin to wrap my draft up. He had solid numbers (minus a touchdown) last season, and should be a better option with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball. Now I just have to hope Conklin and Freiermuth can get me through the season, or that another TE on the waiver wire can step up for me.

Final Thoughts

I feel much better about this mock draft than the last one.

My starting lineup might not be as strong because of the tight end spot, but I feel that my bench is in a better place. All I’d really need is one bench option to become startable, and then use them in a trade to shore up the tight end spot (if Freiermuth and Conklin weren’t cutting it).

With a better feeling about this mock, we’ll change things up with the settings in the next mock. Check back soon for that!
