Dynasty Players Rebuilding Owners Should Consider Moving - AFC West Edition | Travis Kelce, J.K. Dobbins, Courtland Sutton, Jakobi Meyers and More
Identifying some dynasty players who should maybe be moved by rebuilding teams.
It’s time to wrap up my fantasy football series where I identify players that rebuilding dynasty owners should consider moving.
We covered the North (NFC and AFC), East (NFC and AFC) and South (NFC and AFC) divisions and NFC West, so all we have left is the AFC West teams.

Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have a couple players I’d be looking to trade away.
Travis Kelce is one of them. The tight end is 35 years old.
He’s come on of late and would be a welcomed addition to any contending fantasy team. Kelce might not get you a ton in a return because of his age, but getting a future asset or two is better than nothing.
Look for a young pass catcher, maybe even a tight end to replace him with, or a couple rookie draft picks. If you aren’t contending and roster Kelce still, I really hope your leagues doesn’t allow trades, or the deadline has passed, because this is a super obvious decision.
DeAndre Hopkins is next on the trade list. He’s 32 years old.
He regained some trade value with a good showing in week 9 and should net you a decent return should you deal him away. He might have a couple decent seasons left in him, but unless you plan on competing next year, I’d look to move Hopkins now.
Look to get a younger receiver in return, or try to land a rookie pick or two. There’s a bunch of contending teams who would at least add Hopkins as a depth piece.
Kareem Hunt is the final Chief I’d want to trade. The 29-year-old back has enjoyed a solid season in KC, but his time as a lead back is probably just about up with Isiah Pacheco nearing a return.
I’d try to trade Hunt to the owner who has Pacheco - that way they are covered regardless if another injury pops up. Hunt will probably only net you a single rookie pick in return, but that’d be better than nothing. I also wouldn’t mind adding a pick to Hunt to improve the pick coming back your way.
Los Angeles Chargers
There’s also three Chargers I’d be looking to trade.
J.K. Dobbins is probably the most valuable because he’s a running back, and serving as the No. 1 guy for the team right now. He’s 26 years old, but has also dealt with injuries his entire career.
This is a sell-high moment with Dobbins, and I’d do my best to rid myself of that headache for the coming years. He’s had a good enough season where you should get a pretty decent return.
You could attach a pick to Dobbins and go after a good rookie pick or a younger running back. I’d make the move now instead of hoping he continues to gain value the rest of the season.
Joshua Palmer is another player I’d look to move. He’s 25 years old.
He’s been a solid NFL wideout over his career, but looks like he’s going to only be a No. 2 or 3 receiver for his career. Instead of hoping he gets going at some point, I’d much rather prefer to trade him and try again with another wideout or draft pick or two.
The return won’t be anything crazy, but this is about clearing a roster spot for a player with hopefully more potential going forward.
Will Dissly is another trade target, but only in the deepest of dynasty leagues. He’s 28 years old.
He’s done enough this season to get you a late-round rookie pick in return. Even swapping him for a younger player would be a win in my eyes. I just don’t see a big future for Dissly, and a contending team struggling at tight end might be desperate enough to acquire him.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos are a very young offense when looking at their top playmakers.
The only real notable trade target I see is Courtland Sutton. He’s the team’s No. 1 wideout this season, but has struggled with consistency with a rookie quarterback throwing to him. Sutton is 29 years old.
I think Sutton has a couple more solid seasons ahead of him, and because he’s the team’s No. 1 wideout now, I think he’d get you a decent return in a trade. I’d again look to replace him with a younger wideout, or otherwise a future rookie pick or two. If your rebuild is a couple years off, I’d move Sutton now before his value tapers off.
Another possible trade option is running back Javonte Williams. He’s only 24 years old and serving as the team’s top back, but with a murky future ahead, sending him to a contender might be doable.
I’d want to move him because I don’t believe in him long term. It’s a risk to take, because he’s shown flashes of good things. If you want to avoid the headache going forward though, moving him now might be the best thing for your rebuilding team.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have several players who could be moved by rebuilding dynasty teams.
I’ll start with running backs Alexander Mattison and Zamir White. Mattison is 26 years old, while White is only 25.
White looked like the back of the future for the Raiders, but Mattison has outplayed him this season and is currently serving as the top back.
This is a sell-high situation with Mattison. He won’t net you a crazy return, but a contending team short on running backs would love to add a player like Mattison. A mid-round pick could be the return, and if you add one of your picks or another veteran player, a better pick or young player could be acquired.
White doesn’t have much trade value, but I’d throw his name out there to see if anyone still believes in him. Chances are that a late rookie pick or unknown young player or two is the return, but I’d be happier to open a roster spot instead of holding out hope that White ever becomes a decent fantasy asset.
Jakobi Meyers is another trade target. He’s a 28-year-old receiver.
He’s produced a few solid showings this season, at least enough where he’d get you a decent return for him. You won’t likely get a real good young wideout in return, but it could be doable if you give a pick or another player to the deal.
I think Meyers has a couple more decent seasons in him, so that should make him a bit more appealing to those dynasty owners in contention.
Gardner Minshew is the last Raider I’d be looking to trade. He’s 28 years old.
I haven’t seen any reports about whether or not he’s still the team’s starting quarterback, and with the team on a bye this week, we might not know until next week.
Minshew would obviously only be a trade option in a deeper dynasty league, and I’m talking really deep considering he might not even be the current starter. A desperate enough team with a big need at QB might make the move though, so it’s worth a shot.
This might be a situation where you need to attach a pick to Minshew to get the deal done, but opening his roster spot would be priority No. 1.
