Chase DeLauter | Fantasy Outlook

Rib injury sidelines Chase DeLauter, making him a mandatory bench option for the week ahead.

Before landing on the injured list on June 13 with a right rib contusion, our primary right fielder was starting to find his groove, batting .296 over his last 14 days. His absence is a tough blow for the first-place Guardians, who currently sit at 39-35 and are trying to halt a two-game losing streak. Once healthy, he will immediately reclaim his starting role in right field.

On the season, DeLauter has compiled a .263 average with seven home runs across 66 games. Our models project a rest-of-season pace of 16 homers and a .245 average, indicating his initial historic power surge has leveled off into a sustainable, steady rookie profile. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues should remain patient during his recovery.

With Cleveland traveling to face Milwaukee and Houston this week, DeLauter is guaranteed to sit out all remaining games while resting his ribs.
