Ezequiel Duran | Fantasy Outlook

Ezequiel Duran Riding High as Valuable Infielder in Texas

Ezequiel Duran has been on fire, earning Rangers Player of the Month honors for May after driving in 25 runs over his last 30 days. Currently filling in as the starting shortstop for the third-place Rangers while Corey Seager remains on the injured list, Duran has fully recovered from a brief illness and is batting .333 over his last seven games.

His current .293 batting average is a massive step forward from his disappointing .224 mark in 2025. While our models project a rest-of-season regression toward a .241 average, his regular playing time and improved plate approach make him a strong bet to outpace those conservative expectations.

The Rangers wrap up the week with three home games against the first-place Guardians. While facing Parker Messick and his 2.28 ERA on Friday is a tall task, Duran gets excellent matchups over the weekend against Tanner Bibee (4.57 ERA) and Joey Cantillo (4.21 ERA). Start him with confidence.
