Josh Jung looks to break out of a brief slump during a heavy home stretch for the Rangers

Josh Jung has hit a rough patch over the last week, batting just .136 with zero home runs. However, he remains locked in as the everyday third baseman for the third-place Rangers. With several key teammates on the injured list, Texas relies heavily on Jung's presence in the lineup.

Despite the cold spell, Jung's overall 2026 campaign is excellent, featuring a .299 average and eight homers over 68 games. This is a clear step forward from his career .251 mark in 2025. Our models suggest his current slide is temporary, with projections expecting his average to settle closer to .250.

With four home games remaining this week, Jung faces Joe Ryan of the Twins before a friendlier weekend series against San Diego. He will draw favorable matchups against Randy Vasquez and Lucas Giolito, who both carry ERAs above 3.60. Keep him active in all formats. Verdict: Start.
