Yandy Diaz remains a premier on-base asset despite a brief weekly lull

Diaz has cooled off slightly over the last week, hitting just .174, though his plate discipline remains intact with a .321 OBP. He serves as the primary designated hitter and leadoff anchor for a second-place Tampa Bay squad (41-30) currently looking to snap a three-game losing skid. Fantasy managers can expect him to remain locked into his everyday role as the engine of the offense.

Despite the brief weekly dip, Diaz's rest-of-season outlook is incredibly safe and closely aligns with our projection of a .293 batting average. His current season mark sits at an elite .317 with 12 home runs, proving his 25-homer output in 2025 was no fluke. His elite contact rate and disciplined approach mean his recent slump is merely a minor speed bump.

Following a series against the Dodgers, Diaz has three home matchups remaining this week against Washington starting Friday. He faces favorable pitching, including Miles Mikolas and his 5.21 ERA, alongside Cade Cavalli and Andrew Alvarez, who both carry elevated WHIPs.
