Dodgers
I have Tanner Scott as the bust from the Dodgers. He looks like the favorite to close games for what should be the best team in the country, but I think there will be more of a committee. I wouldn't spend a standard league pick on Scott until the final rounds, and I definitely would not want to take a gamble on him around pick 130.
Phillies
Bryson Stott is my choice from the Phillies. He had a bit of a down season in 2024, and is now in a projected platoon. Again, I wouldn't want to spend a pick on Stott in a standard league unless it was a final pick, and with an ADP of 143.35, that's far too early for me.
Brewers
Brice Turang is my bust pick from Milwaukee. He had a pretty good fantasy showing in 2024, but I'm not sold on him for 2025 and beyond. Turang is dealing with an arm fatigue injury, and that could also alter his fantasy performance throughout the season.
Padres
Fernando Tatis Jr. is my bust from San Diego. The biggest reason Tatis is here is because of durability concerns. He's played over 140 games in a season just once over the past six years, and until he plays more, I'm always going to be a bit down on him.
Braves
I'll go with Ronald Acuna Jr. from Atlanta. He's working his way back from another major knee injury, so that's the biggest red flag for me. We don't have a definitive return date for him, making him a risky fantasy pick, especially since he's going around pick 30.
Mets
Edwin Diaz is my choice from the Mets. He had his moments in 2024 where he looked like a top-end closer, but I didn't see enough to warrant a high-end pick this season. I think fantasy closers are going too early more often than not, and Diaz is among that group.
Diamondbacks
Give me Corbin Burnes from the Diamondbacks. His numbers have still been good over the past couple seasons, but he looks to have peaked a couple seasons ago already. I think he's going a round or more early in fantasy drafts, and am not nearly as high on him as others.
Cardinals
I'm taking another fantasy closer here with Ryan Helsley. He had an elite showing in 2024, and I think regression is coming already. Drafting him in the 60s is already too early for my liking, and I think he could be one of the bigger fantasy busts among closers.
Cubs
I think Seiya Suzuki could be the biggest bust from the Cubs. He's got durability concerns already, and I think there's a chance he gets moved down the lineup if he struggles a bit in 2025. He's going just a bit too early (117.47) for my liking.
Giants
My pick from the Giants is Willy Adames. He's coming off a career season, and I think he's in a worse fantasy spot now, so I could see some decent regression coming. Depending on where he gets picked, he definitely could end up as a bust.
Reds
I'll take Alexis Diaz as my bust pick from Cincinnati. He's not going until pick 142.38, but he's coming off a down 2024, and I'm not sure he'll bounce back in 2025. I feel he should be a borderline standard league option.
Pirates
Jared Jones is my pick from Pittsburgh. He recently was diagnosed with elbow discomfort, which is not a great thing to hear for a hard-throwing pitcher. His ADP will likely drop in the coming days, but this kind of thing could negatively impact him all season.
Nationals
There's really not many great options on the Nats' roster, so I'll settle on Keibert Ruiz. With other talented hitters now in the lineup, Ruiz will hit near the end of the order, and probably produce less than in seasons past. He's an OK pick around his ADP (146.27) but he might struggle to produce to that level this season.
Marlins
Sandy Alcantara is my choice from the Marlins, who have just two players being taken in the top-200 picks. He's coming off a major injury and is on a bad team, so there's a chance he underperforms in 2025. His ADP of 129.36 isn't too bad, but he might be more of a streaming option than a locked-in fantasy keeper all season.
Rockies
Colorado doesn't have many options either, so I'll settle on Brenton Doyle. He's had one good fantasy season, but we haven't seen enough of him to be uber-confident in him going forward. He could regress a bit and not live up to his ADP of 141.
