Fantasy Football Week 11 FantasySP Expert Picks: Russell Wilson, Dalton Kincaid, Joe Mixon and More
The experts at FantasySP answer a handful of questions in anticipation of Week 11 of the NFL season.
Every team has a vision of where they want to be by the end of the season. That manifests in wins and losses, but it can also be more defined, like playing to a certain level come playoff time and having a capable player at every position. For your fantasy team, that might mean just winning enough games to make the playoffs, where anything can happen.
To help you prepare for another win, Mark Morales-Smith, Daniel Leonard, Morgan Rode, and Daniel Hepner convened to answer five questions in advance of Week 11 of the NFL season.
Which quarterback has the best chance to out-play expectations this week?
Mark: The Dolphins offense has a tendency to bully bad teams and struggle against good teams. Tua Tagovailoa is going to get back on track and have a huge day against the Raiders on Sunday.
Daniel L: Bo Nix will have a good game against the Falcons. I don’t trust the Falcons pass rush to hurry Nix up, so I think he will be in rhythm most of the day.
Morgan: I’ll say Russell Wilson against the Ravens. Most quarterbacks have put up monster fantasy numbers against Baltimore, and I think Wilson continues that trend this week.
Daniel H: C.J. Stroud is just QB17, as the Houston defense has been the driving force in their success. Stroud has a great matchup against the Cowboys, who have allowed the most yards per pass attempt.
Audric Estime seemed to take over the starting role in Denver last week. Is there another guy who could be primed to see an expanded role or move into the starting lineup the same way?
Mark: I called it last week that Jaylen Wright would begin taking over Raheem Mostert’s job in Miami, and that’s exactly what happened, as Mostert didn’t see a single carry. Wright will have a chance to secure that job if he plays well.
Daniel L: Marquez Valdes-Scantling is primed to be the WR1 in a decimated Saints receiver room. After an explosive 109-yard, two-touchdown game, he’s expected to be Derek Carr’s top target going forward.
Morgan: I could see Gus Edwards becoming the top guy in Los Angeles as he works his way back from injury. He was more efficient than J.K. Dobbins last week and should only get more playing time and touches as time passes. Even if he’s never the backfield workhorse, I could see Edwards being a good weekly starting fantasy option.
Daniel H: Jonathon Brooks has begun practicing with the Panthers and could make his debut in Week 12. That doesn’t help this week, but Brooks could take over a decent chunk of the rushing work when he takes the field, maybe working himself into flex-level fantasy status.
Give us a flex-level receiver who will underwhelm owners in Week 11.
Mark: The Denver defense is tough against the pass, and it’s not just Pat Surtain. I expect Darnell Mooney to have a down game as a flex option, as well as Drake London as a WR2.
Daniel L: I think DK Metcalf will struggle against the Niners. I don’t trust his O-line to hold up against such a stout pass rush, which will affect Geno Smith’s ability to feed Metcalf the ball.
Morgan: I’ll say Michael Pittman Jr. against the Jets. New York is a tough matchup already, and factoring in a back injury for Pittman and Anthony Richardson taking over as the Colts’ starting quarterback, I think Pittman is going to struggle in Week 11.
Daniel H: Jakobi Meyers has one of the toughest pass game matchups against the Dolphins this week. The Raiders are unlikely to do much through the air, particularly away from star tight end Brock Bowers.
How about a tight end you think could score a touchdown because of his matchup?
Mark: Strictly because of the matchup, it has to be Tyler Conklin against Indy, who is so much better against wideouts than TEs. Jonnu Smith could find the end zone against a Raiders team that can’t cover TEs either, plus Smith is actually good.
Daniel L: I think Dalton Kincaid will have a great chance to score a TD this week. The Chiefs allow the most yards in the league to tight ends, so Kincaid has a great chance of finding the end zone on Sunday.
Morgan: I like Will Dissly against the Bengals. Cincy has allowed opposing TEs to score six touchdowns already this season, and I think Dissly could make it seven. The best part is he’s barely rostered, so if you are scrambling for a streaming option, take a gamble on Dissly.
Daniel H: Pat Freiermuth matches up with a Ravens defense that has allowed the fourth-most yards per pass attempt and eighth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends. Freiermuth has a chance at a big week against a weak Baltimore pass D.
And finally, who will be the fantasy MVP of Week 11?
Mark: This one is a toss up for me between Joe Mixon and a bit of darkhorse in George Pickens. Both have great matchups and perfect game scripts.
Daniel L: Christian McCaffrey will get another full workload against the Seahawks this week and could dominate. The Niners had success earlier this year with Jordan Mason against the Seahawks, and I think CMC will just be more dynamic.
Morgan: Give me De'Von Achane against the Raiders. That’s a great matchup for a running back, and Achane has turned in some great fantasy performances when Tagovailoa has been at quarterback. I think Achane delivers a monster score this weekend.
Daniel H: The Lions hosting the Jaguars just seems cruel, especially with Trevor Lawrence missing the game. Detroit will probably end up running all over the Jags, giving Jahmyr Gibbs another chance to rack up yards and score a few times.
