There was a full slate of MLB games on Tuesday, May 7, so there’s plenty to discuss.

There were a lot of runs scored, so many pitchers didn’t fare well. Let’s take a look at how things played out after already looking at the top hitters.

Rangers 15, Athletics 8

Jose Urena got his first win for Texas after working five innings. He allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks, while striking out two.

Ross Stripling was tagged with his sixth loss after only getting five outs for Oakland. He allowed 11 runs (five earned) on 10 hits and two walks, while striking out two.

Tigers 11, Guardians 7

Kenta Maeda started for Detroit, but only lasted two innings. He allowed seven runs on five hits and three walks, while striking out one.  Tyler Holton got his third win after striking out three and allowing only two hits across three innings.

Logan Allen allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks across 2 1/3 innings in his start for Cleveland. He struck out two batters. Pedro Avila took the loss out of the pen.

Diamondbacks 6, Reds 2

Zac Gallen improved to 4-2 after striking out six across six scoreless innings. He surrendered three walks and just one hit.

Frankie Montas started for Cincinnati and fell to 2-3 with a loss. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk across six innings. Montas struck out seven. 

Phillies 10, Blue Jays 1

Cristopher Sanchez earned his second win after striking out five across seven strong innings. He gave up a run on six hits and two walks and now has a 3.22 ERA.

Jose Berrios fell to 4-3 after giving up eight runs on seven hits and two walks across 3 2/3 innings. He struck out seven batters and still has a 2.85 ERA for the season.

Angels 9, Pirates 0

Patrick Sandoval moved to 2-5 after striking out seven over seven scoreless innings for Los Angeles. He allowed three hits and one walk along the way.

Quinn Priester slipped to 0-3 after giving up five runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks, while striking out one.

Nationals 3, Orioles 0

Trevor Williams improved to 4-0 after working five scoreless innings for Washington. He allowed two hits and no walks, while striking out eight. Williams now has a 1.96 ERA on the season.

Kyle Finnegan earned his 12th save after working a 1-2-3 ninth inning. He’s got a 1.76 ERA.

Corbin Burnes fell to 3-2 after pitching 6 1/3 innings for Baltimore. He surrendered three runs on five hits and three walks, while striking out six.

Rays 5, White Sox 1

Zach Eflin improved to 2-4 after working seven solid innings for Tampa Bay. He allowed a run on six hits, while walking none and striking out three.

Michael Soroka fell to 0-4 after allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and four walks over five innings. Soroka struck out four batters.

Yankees 10, Astros 3

Luis Gil improved to 3-1 after pitching six innings for New York. He allowed a run on one hit and four walks, while striking out five. Gil now has a 2.92 ERA for the season.

Justin Verlander took his first loss after giving up seven runs on eight hits and three walks across five innings. Verlander struck out two batters and gave up three homers.

Braves 4, Red Sox 2

Reynaldo Lopez started for Atlanta, striking out five over 5 1/3 innings and leaving the game with an ERA of 1.53. He gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and four walks.

Aaron Bummer was charged with his second blown save, while Joe Jimenez picked up his first win. Raisel Iglesias earned his ninth save and lowered his ERA to 1.88 after a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

Kutter Crawford started for Boston, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. Crawford struck out six along the way. Justin Slaten took his first loss out of the pen.

Cubs 3, Padres 2

Shota Imanaga started and pitched seven innings for Chicago, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk. Imanaga struck out eight and now has a 1.08 ERA for the season.

Hector Neris got his second win after pitching the ninth inning.

Randy Vasquez started for San Diego, giving up a run on five hits over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out six and walked none. Yuki Matsui blew a save, and Enyel De Los Santos took his second loss after allowing the final run.

Brewers 6, Royals 5

Colin Rea started for Milwaukee, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk across 4 2/3 innings. He struck out two and has a 3.29 ERA for the season.

Jared Koenig got his third win out of the bullpen, while Trevor Megill earned his third save after a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

Seth Lugo started and struck out five across 6 2/3 innings for Kansas City. He allowed three runs on six hits and one walk. 

James McArthur was charged with his third blown save and second loss after allowing a three-run homer in the top of the ninth.

Mariners 10, Twins 6

Emerson Hancock allowed four runs on four hits and two walks over four innings, while failing to record a strikeout.

Tayler Saucedo was charged with a blown save, while Ryne Stanek got his first win out of the pen.

Bailey Ober started for Minnesota, surrendering two runs on three hits and a walk over five innings, while striking out seven. Steven Okert was charged with his third blown save and Jorge Alcala was dealt his first loss.

Mets 7, Cardinals 5

Jose Butto started and got the win for New York. He allowed three runs on five hits and three walks, while striking out three.

Adam Ottavino gave up a run in the ninth, but still secured his first save.

Miles Mikolas fell to 2-5 after allowing six runs on nine hits over four innings. He struck out three and walked none.

Giants 5, Rockies 0

Kyle Harrison moved to 3-1 after pitching seven scoreless innings for San Francisco. He allowed four hits and two walks, while striking out a pair.

Dakota Hudson fell to 0-6 after allowing four runs on five hits and walks over 3 2/3 innings. He struck out two batters.

Dodgers 8, Marlins 2

Yoshinobu Yamamoto improved to 4-1 after working eight innings for Los Angeles. He gave up two runs on five hits, walked none and struck out five.

Edward Cabrera slipped to 1-2 after giving up four runs on four walks and a hit over two innings. He struck out one batter.
