Nationals 1, Mets 0

Jake Irvin earned the win and improved to 7-6 on the season. He struck out eight over eight scoreless innings. Irvin allowed just one hit and walk and lowered his earned run average to 2.80.

Derek Law struck out two batters in the ninth and claimed his first save.

Jose Quintana started for New York and worked seven scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and three walks, while striking out one.

Adrian Houser took the loss after allowing a run in the eighth inning.

Cardinals 3, Pirates 2 (10 inn.)

Andre Pallante started and worked seven innings for St. Louis. He allowed a run on four hits and a walk, while striking out five.

John King got the win after tossing two innings.

Martin Perez allowed an unearned run over 7 1/3 innings for Pittsburgh. He allowed six hits and a walk, while striking out two.

Dennis Santana took the loss after allowing two runs (one earned) in the 10th inning.

Reds 8, Yankees 4

Frankie Montas improved to 4-6 after allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four along the way.

Nick Martinez earned a hold before Cincinnati pulled away.

Marcus Stroman took the loss and fell to 7-4 on the season. He allowed five runs on five hits and two walks, while striking out six.

Astros 5, Blue Jays 3

Framber Valdez earned the win after allowing three runs on nine hits and two walks over six frames. He struck out four along the way.

Tayler Scott and Ryan Pressly earned holds before Josh Hader earned his 14th save of the season.

Chris Bassitt took the loss after surrendering four runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out three.

Guardians 8, White Sox 4

Ben Lively moved to 8-4 after allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six batters and now has a 3.14 ERA for the season.

Jared Shuster took the loss after allowing two runs on four hits over two innings for Chicago. He struck out two.

Red Sox 6, Marlins 5 (12 inn.)

Nick Pivetta started for Boston, striking out 10 over seven scoreless innings. He allowed one hit and two walks.

Justin Slaten earned a hold before Brennan Bernardino was charged with a blown save. Zack Kelly eventually got the win and Greg Weissert picked up the save.

Kyle Tyler worked 5 1/3 innings for Miami, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks. He struck out three.

Matt Andriese took the loss after allowing two runs (one earned) in the 12th frame.

Twins 12, Tigers 3 (7 inn.)

Bailey Ober worked six innings and struck out eight in his start for Minnesota. He allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks.

Kenta Maeda fell to 2-5 after giving up nine runs on nine hits and three walks over 3 2/3 innings. He struck out three batters.

Cubs 10, Phillies 2

Jameson Taillon improved to 5-4 after striking out seven over seven frames. He allowed two runs on four hits and no walks. Taillon has a 2.99 ERA this season.

Cristopher Sanchez was tagged with the loss after allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out three batters.

Padres 3, Rangers 1

Michael King got the win for San Diego after working 5 1/3 innings. He gave up a run on four hits and two walks, while striking out five.

Jeremiah Estrada and Adrian Morejon earned holds before Robert Suarez got his 22nd save.

Max Scherzer took the loss after allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out three along the way.

Athletics 5, Angels 0

JP Sears improved to 5-7 after striking out six over five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and one walk.

Osvaldo Bido earned a hold before the Athletics pulled away.

Roansy Contreras took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and three walks over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out one batter.

Mariners 7, Orioles 3

Bryce Miller pitched 5 2/3 innings in his start for Seattle, allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk. He struck out six batters.

Ryne Stanek earned his sixth win after working a scoreless inning.

Corbin Burnes struck out six over six innings for Baltimore. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk and now has a 2.32 ERA.

Bryan Baker pitched next and took the loss after allowing three runs in 2/3 of an inning.

Giants 4, Braves 2

Logan Webb moved to 7-6 after striking out six batters in seven innings of work. The San Francisco starter allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk and now has a 3.09 ERA.

Tyler Rogers earned a hold before Camilo Doval picked up a save.

Charlie Morton took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks. He struck out five.

Rockies 4, Brewers 3

Tobias Myers took the loss and fell to 5-3 for Milwaukee. He allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings, while striking out five. Myers still has a 3.52 ERA this season.

Cal Quantrill started and pitched five innings for Colorado, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks. He struck out two.

Anthony Molina pitched next and was charged with a blown save, but got the win after Colorado took the lead again. Tyler Kinley earned a hold before Jalen Beeks got the final four outs and his seventh save.

Rays 10, Royals 8

Zach Eflin allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and a walk, but got the win for Tampa Bay. He struck out three along the way.

Jason Adam and Kevin Kelly earned holds before Pete Fairbanks picked up his 14th save of the year.

Alec Marsh took the loss after surrendering five runs on six hits and three walks over three frames. He struck out one along the way.

Diamondbacks 9, Dodgers 3

Zac Gallen started for Arizona but didn’t get the win after only making it four innings. He allowed three runs on four hits and three walks, while striking out four. Gallen still has a strong 3.06 ERA this season.

Justin Martinez pitched next and got the win after working three scoreless innings. Ryan Thompson earned a hold before the D-Backs pulled way ahead.

Landon Knack took the loss for Los Angeles, dropping him to 1-4 on the season. He gave up four runs on four hits and a walk over 4 1/3 innings, while striking out six. Knack has a 2.86 ERA this season.
