The MLB regular season is winding down, and fantasy baseball playoffs are in full swing now. Before we turn our attention to the upcoming week, let’s go over the top performers from the weekend (September 13-15).

Top Hitters

Cincinnati Reds’ TJ Friedl led the MLB with eight hits over the weekend. He had six singles and two home runs. Friedl drove in five runs, scored four times and was a strikeout victim twice.

San Diego Padres’ Luis Arraez posted seven weekend hits. He doubled twice and singled five times. Arraez drove in a run, scored four times, walked twice and was not a strikeout victim.

Seattle Mariners’ Victor Robles and Julio Rodriguez, Houston Astros’ Jeremy Pena, Milwaukee Brewers’ Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio, Chicago Cubs’ Michael Busch and Oakland Athletics’ Zack Gelof all tallied six hits.

Robles singled four times and doubled twice this weekend. He drove in a run, scored twice, was hit by a pitch, stole three bases and struck out once.

Pena had four singles and two doubles as well. He drove in a run, scored three times, stole a base and did not walk or strikeout.

Turang had five singles and a double. He drove in a run, walked three times, scored five runs, stole two bases and struck out twice.

Chourio had two singles and doubles, a triple and a home run. He drove in six runs, scored four times, walked twice and was not a strikeout victim.

Rodriguez singled three times, homered twice and doubled once for his hits. He drove in five, scored three runs, walked once, had a sacrifice flyout and struck out four times.

Busch had three singles and three home runs. He drove in seven, scored three times, had a sac fly and struck out three times.

Gelof posted four singles and two doubles for his hits. He drove in two runs and walked and struck out once each.

Cincinnati’s Spencer Steer tied Turang with five runs scored. He doubled twice and tripled twice for his four weekend hits. Steer drove in three, was hit by a pitch and was not a strikeout victim.

Milwaukee’s Willy Adames tied Busch with seven RBIs. Adames had two home runs, a single and a double this weekend. He also walked once, scored twice and struck out six times.

Atlanta Braves’ Matt Olson and New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge each drove in six runs.

Olson had four doubles for his weekend knocks. He scored once, walked twice and struck out four times.

Judge had two home runs, a single and a double for his four hits. He scored twice, stole a base and walked and struck out three times each.

Oakland’s JJ Bleday had four hits and four walks this weekend. He doubled three times and singled once. Bleday also scored a run and struck out four times.

Cubs’ Ian Happ had five hits, three walks and two stolen bases this weekend. He singled for all five hits, drove in a run, scored once and was a strikeout victim once.

Los Angeles Angels’ Nolan Schanuel had five hits, a walk and two stolen bases. He singled for all five of his knocks. Schanuel drove in two runs as well.

Top Starting Pitchers

Several starting pitchers finished with 0.00 earned run averages this weekend.

New York Mets’ Jose Quintana got a win after working seven scoreless innings. He allowed three hits, while striking out four and walking none.

San Diego’s Joe Musgrove was also a winner after working six innings. He gave up three hits and hit a batter, while striking out eight and walking none.

Chicago White Sox’s Chris Flexen tossed five scoreless innings and left with a no decision. He surrendered six hits and two walks, while striking out eight.

Cleveland Guardians’ Ben Lively got a win after working five scoreless. He allowed four hits and a walk, while striking out a pair.

Tampa Bay Rays’ Zack Littell earned a win after tossing six scoreless frames. He gave up two hits, while striking out five and walking none.

San Diego’s Dylan Cease was a winner after pitching six scoreless. He struck out 10, while giving up four hits and two walks.

Baltimore Orioles’ Corbin Burnes was a winning pitcher after tossing seven scoreless. He allowed two hits and one walk, while punching out seven.

Houston’s Ronel Blanco also earned a win after working six scoreless frames. He gave up four hits and two walks, while striking out five.

Miami Marlins’ Edward Cabrera struck out nine over six innings, but took a loss after allowing two unearned runs. Cabrera allowed two hits, a walk and a hit batter.

Washington Nationals’ MacKenzie Gore worked six innings and got a win. He allowed an unearned run on two hits and two walks, while punching out five.

Detroit Tigers’ Keider Montero was a winner as well after working five scoreless. He gave up five hits and a walk, while striking out one.

Cleveland’s Joey Cantillo struck out six over five scoreless innings and got a win. He allowed three hits and one walk.

Seattle’s George Kirby got a win after working seven scoreless frames. He allowed only one hit, while striking out three and walking none.

Oakland’s Brady Basso tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings on his way to a win. He gave up five hits and one walk, while punching out two.

San Francisco Giants’ Landen Roupp took a no decision after pitching five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and two walks, while striking out four.

Boston Red Sox’s Richard Fitts also took a no decision after five scoreless frames. He gave up two hits and three walks, while striking out a pair.

Mets’ David Peterson had the longest start of the weekend, working 7 2/3 innings. He allowed a run on four hits and one walk, while striking out six. Peterson took a no decision.

San Diego’s Martin Perez allowed a run on two hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out two and took a no decision.

Cubs’ Kyle Hendricks struck out seven over six innings and got a win. He gave up a run on two hits and three walks.

Toronto Blue Jays’ Jose Berrios allowed a run on two hits and two walks over seven innings on his way to a win. Berrios struck out four.

Kansas City Royals’ Alec Marsh led the MLB with 11 strikeouts. He got a win after working 5 1/3 innings. Marsh allowed a run on five hits and two walks.

Top Relief Pitchers

Houston’s Josh Hader and Washington’s Kyle Finnegan earned two saves over the weekend.

Hader allowed a hit over 1 2/3 innings, while striking out three. Finnegan struck out one and allowed two hits over two innings.

Detroit’s Brant Hurter tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen and got a win. He allowed no hits and one walk, while punching out eight.

Angels’ Jose Suarez worked four scoreless frames out of the pen. He allowed five hits, but struck out five to work out of trouble.

Colorado Rockies’ Jeff Criswell struck out six batters over 2 2/3 scoreless relief innings. He allowed no hits and one walk.

Yankees’ Luke Weaver struck out five over two frames and picked up a save. He allowed one hit and no walks.

Seattle’s Andres Munoz got a win and a save this weekend. He faced just six batters over two innings, striking out one of them
