Guardians 5, Tigers 0

Gavin Williams got his first win after striking out eight over five innings in his start for Cleveland. He didn’t allow a run on two hits and one walk.

Tim Herrin and Nick Sandlin earned holds before Cleveland scored and took away the save situation.

Detroit used six pitchers to get through the game. Alex Faedo pitched second and took the loss after allowing two runs over 1 2/3 innings.

Orioles 6, Blue Jays 2

Corbin Burnes improved to 11-4 after striking out seven over 6 2/3 innings. He gave up two runs on four hits and three walks and will take a 2.47 earned run average into his next outing.

Chris Bassitt took the loss after allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out three batters.

Yankees 7, Phillies 6 (12 inn.)

Will Warren started and struck out six over 5 1/3 innings for New York. He allowed four runs on four hits and two walks.

Tommy Kahnle and Luke Weaver earned holds before Clay Holmes was charged with a blown save. Michael Tonkin later got the win after allowing an unearned run over two innings.

Aaron Nola was the starter for Philadelphia, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four along the way.

Jose Alvarado earned a hold before Matt Strahm allowed three runs and was charged with a blown save.

Orion Kerkering allowed an unearned run in the 12th and was dealt the loss.

Rays 9, Marlins 3

Jeffrey Springs started and worked 3 2/3 innings for Tampa Bay. He allowed two runs on six hits and a walk, while striking out three.

Tyler Alexander pitched next and got the win after allowing a run over 2 1/3 innings. Kevin Kelly and Garrett Cleavinger earned holds before Tampa Bay pulled away.

Edward Cabrera started and went five innings for Miami, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks. Cabrera struck out seven batters.

Declan Cronin pitched next and took the loss and was charged with a blown save.

Reds 6, Cubs 3

Nick Martinez was the bulk pitcher for Cincinnati. He worked four scoreless innings and got the win. Martinez allowed four hits, while striking out three and walking none.

Justin Wilson, Fernando Cruz and Buck Farmer all earned holds, while Alexis Diaz worked a scoreless ninth to claim his 21st save. 

Justin Steele took the loss and fell to 2-5 on the season. He gave up five runs on six hits and four walks, while striking out seven.

Mets 2, Twins 0

Sean Manaea struck out 11 over seven scoreless innings and got the win for New York. He allowed two hits and one walk and lowered his ERA to 3.50.

Ryne Stanek earned a hold before Edwin Diaz got his 13th save of the season. Diaz struck out two batters over 1 1/3 innings.

David Festa took the tough loss after allowing two runs on three hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out six batters along the way.

Mariners 10, Red Sox 6

Luis Castillo improved to 9-10 after tossing the first six innings for Seattle. He allowed three runs on six hits and a walk, while striking out four. Castillo’s ERA is down to 3.43.

James Paxton started for Boston and allowed six runs over 4 1/3 innings. He gave up six hits and a walk, while striking out five batters.

Cardinals 8, Rangers 1

Lance Lynn improved to 6-4 after working the first five innings for St. Louis. He allowed a run on three hits and a walk, while striking out three.

Max Scherzer was the losing pitcher after allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out five batters.

Cody Bradford made his first appearance since coming off the injured list and was roughed up for five runs over two innings. 

Braves 5, Brewers 1

Bryce Elder earned the win for Atlanta after striking out seven batters over 6 1/3 innings. He allowed a run on five hits and a walk.

Joe Ross started for Milwaukee and worked the first five innings. He took the loss after surrendering five runs on eight hits and two walks, while striking out four.

Royals 4, White Sox 3

Michael Wacha improved to 8-6 after tossing seven innings for Kansas City. He allowed two runs on five hits and two walks, while striking out five.

Hunter Harvey earned a hold despite allowing a run. Sam Long got the save, his first of the season.

Jonathan Cannon tossed seven solid innings for Chicago. He allowed a run on a hit and three walks, while striking out a pair. 

Fraser Ellard pitched next and took the loss after allowing two runs.

Pirates 6, Astros 2

Bailey Falter improved to 5-7 after allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out three and walked none.

Hunter Brown took the loss and fell to 9-7 on the season. He allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings. Brown struck out eight.

Angels 10, Rockies 7

Griffin Canning started and allowed six runs over six innings for Los Angeles. He gave up six hits and two walks, while also striking out six.

Jose Quijada was charged with a blown save after allowing a run, but also earned the win. Ben Joyce earned a hold before Hunter Strickland picked up his first save of the season.

Cal Quantrill was shelled for seven runs in just 3 2/3 innings in his start for Colorado. He allowed nine hits and two walks, while striking out four.

Jake Bird later took the loss after allowing a run in an inning of work.

Padres 6, Dodgers 5 (10 inn.)

Matt Waldron started for San Diego, allowing five runs on five hits and one walk over four innings. He struck out six batters.

Robert Suarez eventually got the win after striking out two of the three batters he faced in the 10th inning.

Tyler Glasnow struck out eight over seven innings in his outing for Los Angeles. He gave up three runs on six hits and a walk.

Anthony Banda earned a hold before Blake Treinen was charged with a blown save. Alex Vesia then took the loss after allowing an unearned run in the 10th.

Diamondbacks 17, Nationals 0

Ryne Nelson improved to 8-6 after striking out nine over seven scoreless innings for Arizona. He gave up two hits and two walks.

Patrick Corbin fell to 2-11 after allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on 13 hits in three innings. He struck out three and walked none. 

Athletics 5, Giants 2

JP Sears improved to 8-8 after striking out nine over seven scoreless frames. He allowed three hits and one walk.

Robbie Ray took the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out four along the way.
